Doc0075: * DICE ROLL *
Blue Lightening rolls 10
The Bard rolls 4

The Bard smiles at his worthy adversary, Quicktongue the Bard. He takes a step back but treads on a blue marble. He tries to regain his balance by throwing his arms out to the sides but the little marble rolls around under his foot. The Bard topples through the ropes and out of the ring and hits the concrete head first, knocking himself out.

The Bard is now in the crowd with an ice-pack on his head.

Mortius1: Proper railings! Proper railings! My kingdom for proper railings!
The area surrounding the ring is not up-to-code either, as instead of concrete it should be made of padded surface covered in non-slippery material. Not even Iago would have set up such a hazardous situation for Othello ^^' Time to turn the focus of the Bard's dramaturgy skills towards lawsuit draft and sue for damages (don't forget to include that someone left an odd-looking blue marble laying around on the floor during a sporting event)!

While the padded surface might protect in case of a fall, the highly destructive powers that the participants can summon make necessary that the fighting area is made as resilient as possible. Think of the tournaments in Dragon Ball :-)

Highly destructive powers that can destroy the scenery, but leave the participants with nothing more than a bruise?

I suppose a projectile vomit superpower would make stain removal the biggest problem with soft furnishings. That and the smell.

Yes! So you watched Dragon Ball as well? :) Also they can get their clothes in rags, eventually. That is, if they even wear clothes. Not so sure about the marble, to name one! :-)

I am not sure at all about this, but... There might be clues that point to fighters arriving from multiple facets of a polyverse where absolutely anything is possible! Also, what do we know about the powers at the disposal of the ringmaster? And, what if ancient, strong magic was inbuilt in the stones that make the basement of the figthing area? And what would be magic, then? There might be more to the whole tournament than meets the eye (or your favourite sensory organs). But of one thing we can be sure: this is the stuff of legend, to be remembered around the camp fire for generations :-)

Blue Lightening rolls 4

Blue Lightening rolls around the ring, picking up speed. It rolls up a corner post and shoots across the ring but is caught in midair by a yappy little dog.
Tail wagging, Mr. Chip races out of the arena with the marble in his mouth. He runs down the road to a nearby cemetery, weaves his way through a group of restless zombies and stops by an open grave.
In the grave he drops Blue Lightening before covering him with soil. He then urinates on the spot, gives a little growl and yap at a passing zombie and runs back to the wrestling ring, tail wagging all the way.

Blue Lightening is back ringside, albeit a bit muddy.

Celia rolls 6
Gerald of Red Deer rolls 6

Celia throws a fireball at Gerald's head. Just as she does, Gerald looks down at his feet "Ooh dang, my shoelaces are undone." Gerald bends down and the fireball passes over him harmlessly.

Slick Cat rolls 9
Quicktongue the Bard rolls 6

Slick Cat is smartly dressed as always. His suave demeanor is lessened a little as he staggers under the effects of alcohol and lets out a loud belch.
Quicktongue the Bard looks the drunkard up and down and sighs. He takes out his sharpened quills and starts weaving a dazzling show of swordsmanship with them.
Slick Cat hiccups, looks at Quicktongue and smiles "that reminds me of a film I once saw". Slick pulls out one of his antique pistols and shoots Quicktongue dead, right there.

Quicktongue the Bard finds himself seated next to The Bard and is pleased for the choice of company.

Mr. Chip rolls 11

Slick Cat hisses at the smell of dog and looks around for the waggly-tailed little fellow, but he in nowhere to be seen.
There is a loud revving noise and the screetching of tyres, Slick turns around just in time to see his own car hurtling through the air at him, a little dog looking over the steering wheel.
Mr. Chip jumps out of the car just as it smashes into Slick Cat and carries him out of the ring.

Slick Cat is now in the crowd, grumbling about the oil stains on his snazzy suit.

Celia is very frustrated with her encounters with the Canadian. She decides a more direct approach is needed having observed him in previous rounds.
Celia walks up to Gerald and orders him to open his mouth. Gerald replies "Oh ya, anything to oblige. We Canadians are proud of our helpfulness buddy. In fact, ther...." Celia shoves a fish into his mouth, glad to have shut him up.
She forces his mouth closed until he has to swallow then steps back.

Gerald of Red Deer gasps and says "Bleeurrgh! What was that all aboot, eh?" He goes red in the face as his throat swells up "Oh, dang..." he wheezes.
Gerald of Red Deer collapses to the canvas and lay very still. Celia takes a deep breath, glad to have finally beaten him. She notices Mother of All Mothers in Law out of the corner of her eye give an approving smile.

Gerald of Red Deer is sat next to a gargoyle in the crowd.

Mr. Chip vs Celia

* DICE ROLL *
Mr. Chip rolls 9
Celia rolls 2

Celia hears yapping from behind and conjures fireballs in her hands. She spins to smite her foe only to be greeted by the biggest puppy-dog eyes the world has ever seen. Mr. Chip is sat there, tongue hanging out while his tail wags back and forth frantically.
Celia gets down on her knees and strokes the happy little dog. "I cannot hurt you, I guess this makes you the champion." Mr. Chip jumps up to lick her face then runs around the ring excitedly as the audience stands to applaud the victor.
While clapping Og'rialt notices his clothes have been replaced by a pink tutu. He glares at the smirking Shadowy figure in the alcove.

The Shadowy Ringmaster speaks "There we have your champion. He is neither the strongest, the smartest nor the scariest among you but one thing he does have is the eye of lady luck."
Mr. Chip finds the section of the ring he is standing on raise into the air as a giant dinosaur steak is placed next to him.
Salivating, Mr. Chip feels like a true champion as he takes his first bite of a worthy meal.
Congratulations to Mr. Chip and his human kmcoolice!

Doc0075: I have made a final decision on how the four main prizes will be dished out.
First and second prizes will go to the final two combatants in the Royal Rumble.
Third prize will go to the one who wins the most fights in Round 3, so Jack the Knack is in pole position on that one.
Fourth Prize will go to one combatant in Round 3 selected by random.org
Yeeessssss!

But congrats Mr Chip!
