Hirako__: Finally we got an official announcement by Bethesda! The game will be revealed tomorrow 22.04 - 11AM ET / 8AM PT / 4PM BST

Odessam: Nice ! I’m excited to see the changes they’ve made to the combat system.
I'll laugh if they kept the original ridiculous leveling system in place. I swear it's the most counter-intuitive system of its kind I've come across in all my years of gaming.
Hope GOG will also release it today.

Dawnsinger: Yeah, the bloom thing got way out of hand. I also don't see why peoples skin is so shiny it looks liks they've bathed in oil. Facial models aren't much better today, consider the two basic face options you get in Solasta, one of which looks much like it's taken from Oblivion in terms of brickiness. Admittedly, after replaying NWN I noticed that I didn't remember the blockiness it has either, so maybe it's a matter of comparing Witcher to these ancient titles.

Also up for consideration: if the remaster comes out, will they pull the original as they increasingly tend to do? I got the DVD version but am considering to repurchase here because of the GOG release contains the updates and extensions but don't know if it's truly worth it?
I've never been able to adequately express the glow of those old Oblivion faces... bathed in oil is the best description of it I've heard yet. That definitely hits the nail on the head there. Oblivion is a great game, but damn is it ugly lol

As for pulling the original, I think that'll be up to Bethesda/Microsoft. I can't prove it, but I think that developers/publishers are the ones who make the call about whether the original stays or is pulled. Maybe to avoid confusion? I find that practice very distasteful. I think the remaster should be sold alongside the original... or better yet, have both versions merge. That way when new players buy the remaster, they could play either version. For anyone with the original, they could maybe just purchase a discounted upgrade to add the remaster.

Not likely to happen because of corporate ineptitude but would be nice.

I'm assuming it'll be the same game with a graphical overhaul and maybe a few minor changes. If that's the case, I'll pass.
I'll wait until it's sold here for around €10/15 maybe

It looks more like it's aimed at the console market than PC. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Not sure what's new will wait for the reviews but it's very expensive.
Don't really care as

1 The original version runs fine as it is
2 My aging PC is not going to play it smoothly based on the min reqs
3 Looking at the price of today's major studio releases makes me think gaming is indeed a luxury for me nowadays
4 And lastly I haven't even try Skyrim lol
Just saw the trailer for it. It's on Steam today but absolutely no sign of a GOG release. I'll stick with the original for now.
just the main trailer for it and it is just hilarious. Still the ragdolling of the enemies. The riding on the horse looks weird. The looks on the faces of the people and characters was weird. And I would need a new pc in order to play it; as well as a Steam account. I do not think that it will appear on GoG; well, maybe in ten years or so.

Hopefully Skyblivion will come out this year.
That damn Bethesda. No GOG Oblivion release, Fallout 4 still without next gen.
They clearly don’t care…
Already top seller on steam.

65€ for the deluxe which contains Shivering Isles.

Nope!
And I love that the horse armor is only in the deluxe upgrade :). Well played

I think the base game includes everything but the armor sets, music and art that are mentioned for the deluxe edition. The info on the store page is extremely confusing

No, that is incorrect. Shivering Isles are included in the base game. All story expansions are included

The deluxe edition only adds:
Horse Armor
Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon Armors, Weapons, and Horse Armor Sets
Digital Artbook
Soundtrack

Is it me, or does it look way more generic? I feel like the pursuit of "better = more realistic graphics" in fantasy games results in homogenisation of imaginary worlds.

But I'll give them this: for the first time in almost 20 years I feel like I might actually want to replay the original :D
