Speaking of manuals I'm digging the artfully crafted one for Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. I sure wouldn't mind having a high-quality paper copy of it.

What? No snake repellent? :D
This hasn't been a particularly active thread.
Nor has it been a very lively sale.

In the end I did spend some money. Mostly, out of fear due to the Interplay cleaning house doomsayings.

I have no idea wether I will like Freespace or not.

Well, that's your guys' fault for forgetting to bring the confetti and cake.

What did you expect, everybody is back to school ;-)
Gngh, what an annoying time to end a sale. ;_; I was just browsing the games on sale, everything's OK, and when I'm almost done, the sale ends. I kind of expected it to end at the same time as normal weekend sales. I even had one game in my cart. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for the next time then.

Yeah, same here. I figured I'd think about it for a while and maybe grab it this evening. Never paid much attention to the sale end time, so my bad. No big deal though, I have many games. Too many. I'll just put that one on the wishlist and will wait for another sale.

Ditto - I was in the middle of buying Settlers 5 and the Homeworld series, when before I could check out, Boom, the sale was over. Bummer!
DAMN the UTC screwed me up and i missed it... lol, oh well lets hope Fall/Christmas/NewYear brings back what i was looking for ^_^

oldgameryeah: Thank you for mentioning the need to spend time reading the manuals before diving into the games. I will keep this in mind when deciding when to play them.
avatar
zeogold: Wait...you mean there are people who DON'T read the manual from start to finish before starting a game? O_o
There are games I can play without reading the manual, But at least one of the StarTrek manuals is required reading. I do not mind reading a manual. But is is also nice to play a game that can be played without the need to look at a manual.

Yeah, I was just browsing details about a game and then decided to buy. Refreshed the page and the deal had ended - agghhhh!!!

I was looking at Sherlock Holmes something, Jack the Ripper I think? It's not a huge loss really, because my backlog is already huge and I didn't intent to play it right away, but still a bit disappointing.

They will probably be on sale again in December.

I've considered getting the Sherlock Holmes games, but my backlog is also huge, and I get the sense they are just OK games, when I have many really good games that I haven't started yet. So I'll probably wait until they are so cheap I can't resist.
