On the 10th of August, TerraTech will be leaving the GOG.com storefront. This joint decision comes due to the fact that the developers will not be able to deliver the multiplayer mode that will be available on other platforms at launch.

However, all current owners of TerraTech via gog.com's GID program (or those that purchase before the 10th) will still receive the latest 1.0 update with all possible features, fixes and improvements.

Existing owners of the game will maintain access to it via their library.

So. People who bought this, are screwed. We all know 1.0 releases of anything are never stable and require rigorous patching. I guess they didn't get enough sales on GOG to bother with the multiplayer here and found an excuse to leave altogether.
No refunds?
(Unless the in-dev policy is already enough on this front)

I haven't bought the game, but the devs should really have a refund option. The whole thing is their own fault, you can't promise a thing and don't deliver.

Does this new event mean that Ancestor's Legacy is still coming? Supposedly the multiplayer is the reason why that game remains indefinitely delayed, not that that excuses the utter lack of communication and transparency on the developer's end.

I know GOG gets flack for curation but I for one applaud GOG for not accepting dev whining and feet-stamping. If it is not DRM-free, it does not exist to me, and no great loss with games the devs seem to not want here. Too many of these devs are focused on Scheme-only. Yet they have no problem taking GOG customer money, funny how that works!
Refunds should be offered to the existing owners of the game

It's an in-dev game, you're supposed to get all the updates and features once the game is finished

but have they promised something here?

I see why they removed it (parity across platforms) - but I can't say they have not "delivered something they promised"...
Well, crap. This is a game on my radar, and I don't care at all about multiplayer.

With any luck it will turn into a fun game, and will make the return here after multiplayer gets sorted.
It's unfortunate that people gave em money, and now what they purchased is forever inferior.
I guess that's the gamble of buying in dev games?

Once again, have to blame the developers for making bad decisions. It was their choice to use whatever multiplayer API (likely Steamworks...) that they are rather than one that would maintain cross-platform parity. Screw them.

Broken platform parity for middle-classic titles can be understood. But for a game that was on here indev, it's inexcusable.

Damn!
My son loves this game

Fortunately multiplayer isn't an issue, but we're going to miss out on content.

Guys I don't know what you are doing behind the scenes at GoG central but sorting out your multiplayer API has to be high on the agenda.

I don't know if your work with Hello games for the No Mans Sky Multiplayer is going to sort any of these issues.

Also you need to start getting multiplayer middleware guys supporting your MP API. Antigraviator couldn't come here because the Multiplayer Middleware they used didn't support GoG's MP API.

Unfortunately 3rd party middleware tools are not supporting GoG's MP API which is making it harder for Devs.

They were on indev. They had a direct line to GOG if they wanted to use GOG's, which supports cross-platform itself. There are [sadly, not many] a few others out there of various qualities and caliburs beyond using a Steam-exclusive one. I know Unity has one. I should look into what it is/costs... There's RakNet, which is open-source now. Etc.

It's entirely the developer's bad decision that their product is in this boat.
