Timeless classics, hidden indie gems, modern titles – we love ALL games! Yet, one of the beautiful things about the wide variety of genres and styles available on GOG is the ability to choose and discover titles best suited to your needs.

With that in mind, we thought that a little clash of titles could be very fun. That’s why we’ve asked our staff to pick some of their favorite titles, then we divided them into Team Blue and Team Purple and… offered them on discount up to -85%. Let’s see which GOG Staff Picks you prefer!

We got roguelikes, RPGs, adventure games, shooters, strategies, and many more! And while you’ll surely find games you'd like, the question is… which Team will you join? Here are some of the representatives of each Team.

Team Blue: Frostpunk, Hotline Miami, SUPERHOT, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, and many more!

Team Purple: Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Don't Starve, Loop Hero, This War of Mine, and many more!

So, which one is it? Go Blue or Go Purple? Explore all the discounted games HERE and decide! The sale lasts until May 17th, 10 PM UTC.

GOG.com: Team Blue vs. Team Purple – choose your team of GOG Staff Picks and enjoy deals up to -85%
My "in Library" count puts me in Team Blue...
Team Blurple all the way.
I'll pick whichever team fixes the wishlist. so neither. glad you have time to pick games, though you don't seem to be doing anything useful anyway. but hey, time for the 23rd 'special sale' this month.
I can't choose so I guess that makes me team cop-out.

I'll happily play games from both teams.

Who really cares about that? Artificially splitting your customership up to like Sale-Games from another store as incentive to buy something?

I would rather see that you concentrate your energy to fix your shop, fix you forum.
There are so many long standing issues which was discussed to no end.
This really baffles my mind how you could still operate as like it's all ok, nothing too see, moving on.
Call me cynical, but who exactly is on Team Blue? And on Team Purple? One member per team? Two? Zero?

Also this.

I have no problem with an automated system to push news out automatically at certain times to create the artificial feeling of something happening regularly.

But only if it frees up staff members to do other things, like fix the spam problem, or the incorrect stats on the header, or any of the other problems.

It very much feels like someone is employed for one day every month to write and schedule these news posts and then the forum is left to rot.

Problem is, the skill set to write posts like this and the skill set to work on the website and/or platform doesn't intersect (or I should say, the intersection is not large enough that a writer can necessarily do software development and vice versa) and the later tends to be more in demand and more expensive.

You could say: "Well, just fire the writer(s) then", but you do need those to write announcements and it is a rare bird who can do both (and you do not want to pay the later's fees to do the former).

So if you have a writer on staff twiddling their thumbs otherwise, might as well have them pump out announcements like this.

Well said. :)
Team Blue (mouse) for EVERYTHING, even the games that people claim are better with a controller lol.
I once tried Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia on a controller. It was a disaster, especially the parkour. One of the worst things is the fact that you cannot use the face buttons and the right stick at the same time, whereas a mouse itself has buttons lol.

Maybe I could be convinced to use a controller for some car racing game... maybe. But otherwise, if it's 3D with a free camera control (regardless of presence shooting), I need a mouse.

A sick part of me doesn't want them to fix anything so we can rage for all eternity. ;)
