Wait... so now there's no Steam/Desura/other keys gifting? Or is the GOG for GOG only for... err... GOG offers?

The latter. A GOG key can only be exchanged with another GOG key.

Edit: Steam, Desura, and other are still up for giveaways.

Not really sure about meaning of this restriction...people dont like idea of exchanging GOG keys for another stores keys?
Ok, but take a look in classfields topic, there is huge amount of offers to exchange various bundles stuff for GOG keys.
Well, never-mind.

Well, ok, but such manual rules tweaking with subjective "value of game" estimation can lead to something like "same price game for same price game" and so on.
Not like i really want to argue on that though.

Yeah, I don't think Awolnation purposely meant to do it, but giving 99 Levels to Hell (steam) for Neverwinter Nights (GOG) seemed exploitative to me, so I made the rule.

GOG keys are DRM-free and have goodies other than the game, so it seems like the best match for them is other GOG keys.
Hm, I thought this was a giveaway, not a trading thread? How about claiming a GOG game for someone else even though I can only offer a Steam key for the giveaway? Because I think this new member might be really happy about getting Neverwinter Nights. If theslitherydee and cmdr_flashheart would be okay with bending the new rule under these circumstances and gift NWN to the person mentioned above, I could offer Redshirt (Steam) for this thread.

Yeah, but its just looks like topicstarter dont like situation when someone takes "good stuff" and leaves some "junk". OFC its subjective, i believe there is a lot people who like 99 levels to hell more, but i see where is coming from.

I suggest contacting slitherydee and making a trade. The games contributed by other members are gifted out of generosity, so the idea is to respect and protect that generosity by preventing any exploitative behaviour where key traders can nab high-value keys and then put them on the market for profit.
Hm, didn't think this would start such a discussion.

To be honest, I was a little dissapointed that I couldn't get NVN for the Steam key I offered, because this game has been on my wishlist for quite a while.

Random question: What about more than one Steam key for a GOG game?

You're better off sticking to the classifieds section for that :]

Oh, I can see it too. I think it's not so much about the subjective value of a game but about the actual cost - since the 99 Levels to Hell key might be something surplus from a cheap bundle that lots of people bought for pocket change, while a GOG key for NWN is actually a quite generous gift and not all that common. I just hadn't thought about comparing offers in a giveaway before, but I guess fair is fair if the OP wants to avoid people exploiting it. :)

cmdr_flashheart: ~snip~
Understood. I think I'll just drop it then, for the sake of fairness. Anyway, Redshirt (Steam) is available in either case, for anyone interested! :)

I have a cheatcode for you - purchase Long Live the Queen gift on GOG and offer it for NWN. I guess that this will do.

P.S. interesting, is Underrail key will be considered "cheap" or "generous"? (not yet offered, lets see how its all going)

Leroux:
Well, if I am wrong in my thinking, I'd like to know :] I personally don't care about the actual values, if someone is happy getting a game, then that's what matters. But the purpose of this thread to pass on the gift of game, so I am trying to prevent any reasons for using this thread for exploitative reasons; giving bundle keys for GOG keys seemed like such an instance to me.
Already too much "rules" in this new thread. How about just let the gifter decide if he wants to gift the game?
