chevkoch: At first I wasn't sure this could be done, but when I buffed my Shade to survive the first round of attacks and had her happily paralyzing opponents, I managed to conquer all three enemy capitals one after the other. Felt like a real achievement (though not diffult at all). No more pesky humans, dwarves or demons stealing my precious resources!
Best fantasy TBS I've ever played! By the way is that campaign or a scenario? Because I seem to remember a problem about the undead campaign in which you had to play as the caster hero otherwise you could easily/definitely find yourself in a position where you couldn't kill a specific enemy group to complete one of the campaign missions.
Yup, seems so : check out the campaign spoiler alert http://disciples.wikia.com/wiki/The_Undead_Hordes

It's the last scenario in the campaign and I could finish the whole thing fine with my Death Knight. In one earlier scenario I think I remember maybe two enemy groups that partly sported troops immune to Death/Weapon attacks. Hit them with Earth attack spells beforehand, then finished the non-immune foes off in direct combat. Wasn't a hassle at all, just felt like a moment where you had to adapt your strategy to include out-of-combat spells.

I agree, love Disciples 2. The first one was great too, but this seems perfect; it's been a while I had so much fun and felt that riveted by playing a game.

Ah right yes you can nuke a group with spells beforehand. Have you played the other sagas? I've finished all 5 of them and have ever since been desperately trying to erase the game from my memory so that I can do it all over again :)
Currently not from gog, with widescreen patch, game is distorted because its one of those hallucination levels

Just (and only) finished the Undead campaign of Dark Prophecy, planning to import my Death Knight into Servants of The Dark next. Really looking forward to that. The Undead are super fun.

I can see the campaigns being replayable, even if you do know the maps. Have the capitals lie in ruin is satisfying, when they gave you so much trouble before; that alone might be worth to experience again ;)
I've been playing World of Warships.

*shrug*

I'm a sucker for the good human faction always, but the undead are undoubtedly the strongest race. I don't think I ever went for the liches though like in your screenshot, save once perhaps. I typically went for the Elder Vampires instead.

Seeing the capitals in ruin is indeed very satisfying. It took me a long time before I decided to habitually attack the capitals since it seemed like all but a completely hopeless fight the first time I tried. But once you manage it the first time its not that difficult to pull off again. Just stock up on those defense potions :)

Great, great game but god how I hated those sequences. Good luck with that infernal blood trail maze suspended over a pit of nothingness :P

Now, imagine that level but without the ability to quicksave; developers trolling players at its best. :D

Yup, binged on defense potions alright before knocking on the capitals' doors. I imagined the dwarves saying, and disapprovingly so, are you really going to drink all of these? But right, for a long while I thought the capitals were impregnable too.

EDIT: Archliches don't paralyze, I was thinking of Phantom Warriors. Still, I prefer Archliches over Elder Vampires (though Drain Life is neat), mostly because the latter are too much Count-Dracula-types design-wise.

Oh yes, the lack of quicksaves made a recent playthrough far more annoying in places than I remember :P Back when it first came out I think I was far too impressed with the bullet time to care about having to do fights over and over again :) except, that is, for the dream sequences...
Fallout 4, mass effect style
