I´m trying to uninstall a couple of GOG games but every time I get the same answer: swbemlocator error: class not registered.

Anybody have the same problem or have any idea how to resolve them?
Are you installing from the normal installers or from Galaxy?

I´ve tried both but I get the same error
Probably a dumb question, but I assume you tried both ways of uninstalling, the one you find on the start menu and the one you can do from the control panel?

Well, it wasn´t a dumb question since that hadn´t even crossed my mind, I´ve always just uninstalled stuff trough control panel :D But I tried and get still the same error. I tried uninstalling a game I installed using Galaxy and one I installed just from the setup image

Did you mess around with the your registry editor, before you stared uninstalling GOG games?

Bitdefender came with a registry tool but it also allowed me to restore it and that was no help. I used to have some sort of tool to speed up my pretty old laptop but tbh I cannot remember if I used it on my new (older than my laptop) hard drive or not. It is possible, though.

I think it's almost certainly registry errors, but it is also possible (I think) that the same kind of error would occur if you changed drive or folder names that the games were installed to. How long have these games been installed?

Not long, I replaced my hd around may. Is there any way to reset the reigistry?
Have you tried installing a game you download direct from the website via browser download, then once installed, uninstall it? The reason is that if you are using Galaxy (which is still beta I believe) is most likely to be that, considering I have always browser download + standard installed games (hundreds of them, on different OS's) and never seen this. Also, what OS are you using?

Yes, the restore function will do that, but you may not (probably not) have any restore points old enough to reset it to a point before whatever registry errors are there occurred, although by all means it's worth a try. Then, once they uninstall correctly, you could undo the restore. I doubt if it will be successful though because if you've been using that registry "fixer" for awhile, you probably won't have a restore point old enough.

I'm no techie (AT ALL) but I've been told by every one I've ever met to avoid those registry cleaners like the plague, so maybe this is one reason why. Sorry it happened to you.

The good news (sort of) is that if you still have the registry cleaner, you may be able to get away with simply deleting the folders that games were installed to, and then run the cleaner and have it remove any remaining registry entries for the game. Might work.

Most of my games I´ve bought from GOG are dowloaded and installed the old fashion way. I´m using Win 7

That did the trick! Thank you and all others for the help. Guess learning the hard way is most effective...
