fortune_p_dawg: oh and alien trap responded to my inquiries about apotheon with this: "Hey if I remember right, the Apotheon 1.3 update is just steam related changes. I'll check again though"
avatar
tremere110: Could be true. This is the changelog for 1.3:

- Fixed some start up crashes with Steam - and better logging for when start up crashes happen
- Now automatically switches to the dedicated graphics card over integrated - so if the game was running poorly on your gaming laptop, this could fix that
- Fixed a few problems with connecting to bad servers
avatar
tremere110: The integrated graphics card could be the only thing not Steam specific - I don't have a way to test it though.
my thoughts exactly.

fronzelneekburm: Regarding XCOM: I understand that people are hyped about the game being released here. I'm not happy about putting the game on the mix either, but the missing multiplayer makes it an inferior version. That's just objective fact.
Fair enough, but you should add a note that the multiplayer is a bare-bones, tacked-on mode at best that I doubt even Steam version players still play if they ever did very much at all. I just don't think it's worth turning potential buyers off of the game to list it, which is why I think a note should be added, but it's not my list and not up to me.
avatar
Ancient-Red-Dragon: I think every single game on this list should be added to the list of "Games that treat GOG customers as second class citizens:"

https://www.gog.com/mix/achievements_on_steam_but_not_gog

...and that list isn't even complete. Every other game that also has Achievements on Steam but not GOG, yet isn't on that list, should be added as well to the list of "Games that treat GOG customers as second class citizens:"
A lot of these games probably released on GOG before GOG even had achievments, it's unrealistic to expect them to go back to the game after development has ended just to add GOG achievements, especially if the game was already here.

This list is starting to become a lot of nitpicking... and / or rather what people want added to the list.

A new update for Brigador has just been released, but not yet on gog currently to my knowledge. Keep an eye on it for now just in case:

Darksiders II DE.

Buggy as hell and no patches here to fix this fucking mess.
I was thinking about buying two games here: A Hat in Time and Aragami. Both of which I've been told have updated Steam counterparts and are client free, which is one of the main reasons I buy games off Steam.

Is this true or should I at least pull the trigger on Aragami. I have a feeling that while Aragami has it's expansion out on GOG, Steam has the more updated version. Would this indeed be true or has there been an update to it along with the patch?

Aragami's updates are fine. The issue is that Aragami's level editor is exclusive to Steam (a situation which is unlikely to change, according to the developer).

As for A Hat in Time, it's missing a single update that was released last month, as well as the modding tools, which the developer promised that they would eventually bring them here.

See for yourself.

Thank you. I was checking both of their forums throughout the sale but was unable to get any clarity on the issues, aside from one of my friends telling me that Steam had the more updated version of Hat in Time.

It seems I'm getting more bang for my buck with Steam in this case, especially when DRM is no issue no matter where you get the games. I take no mind to multiplayer being left out in this cases but level editors and mod tools is something I might tinker with.

But it seems to be another case where they don't know that they can now directly upload to GOG.

Good god. GOG needs to sort out these communication problems with devs. This kind of crap is gonna kill the site over time.

I dont understand how people are saying just because the multiplayer in xcom feels added and not upto the mark , it can be discarded ? Unreal 2 has a multiplayer that was added later and is useless yet the gog version has it ?

Instead of disabling it outright it should be upto the customers to use it or not ..at least they could have added galaxy support for mp.

Also the multiplayer is fun in short bursts if you are playing against friends . watch this fight btw total biscuit vs angry joe(rip tb)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqkilQ_MfMg

If you ask me any game that misses anything from its original release on its release here must be documented so that devs, gog people know we dont let anything slide.

His new reply on Twitter: "GoG build should be up, and we’ll look into the dev portal for future updates, thanks for letting me know."

He didn't know about dev portal after all. They really need to acquire more hamsters and notify all the devs. :D

Yeah, it's a problem gog needs to address.
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?publisher=KISS%20ltd

A number of Kiss Ltd. games have a lower base price on Steam than here on GOG ($3 on Steam vs. $6 here), but I don't know if that counts as "second class citizens" here or not, especially since most of the Kiss games have a different publisher here on GOG.
