I was wondering, is there a web store where I could buy DRM free games for Android?

I'm not looking for games with micro transactions, I'm looking for more serious games or premium editions like Shadowrun: Return, KOTOR, GTA (probably won't find it DRM free, but it doesn’t hurt to ask) and other great titles.

Stores I know of so far:
Humble Bundle - Some Android games are time limited bundle only (like shadowrun) so if you missed the bundle (like me), you cannot get Android version from HB
Indie Game Stand - Only small selection of Android games

And please do not make this topic mobile vs non mobile hate arena. I too didn't like mobile gaming. I thought it was anything but serious, and that was true some years ago. But now, there are some decent games, like the ones I mentioned. When I'm home, I barely have some time to get sleep and eat, but I do have my tablet with me all the time, soo... hence the question.

Gamersgate has Android games, not a huge amount, but at least it's a couple hundred if their filter and count are correct.
Most of them are likely casual crap, but there's also stuff like Anomaly, Magicka, Dracula, and... and... well, I guess that's about all there is.

Your not going to find alot of android games on any site, the android games market is hurting due to piracy or so android devs are claiming.

I've been hearing that "piracy hurts market" excuse since 1988 (the year I started buying game magazines).

I'm not claiming that piracy doesn't hurt the market (it most certainly does). But it shoudn't hurt that hard, considering that we've been having pirates for more than 30 years and the market hasn't collapsed.
Thank you Maighstir for GamersGate. They may no't have many games now, but who knows, maybe in some foreseeable future.

I know I been hearing it for years too(been gaming since 1982) but if piracy is rampant enough it can do damage but I think it's more of a combination of piracy, a flooded market often filled with crap and bad microtransactions aimed towards nickeling and dimming people that is hurting the android market, not just piracy since the latter two are probably turning more and more people away from mobile gaming.

Yep. I totally agree with you.
Way more than the piracy, what is hurting the mobile market is the over-saturation of shitty products.

Even though many "Illuminated minds" say that mobile market is the future, dumb old me says that soon we may have a "mobile market crash", similar to what happened in 1983 (and, as far as I know, there was no piracy in those days).

Oh I been saying for years now that mobile gaming isn't the future, I laughed nearly to death when people had claimed in the past that mobile was going to dominate and kill PC and console gaming and I agree I can see it heading towards a crash if it keeps going in the direction it currently is.

They are only hurting themselves for a quick buck and I am enjoying every damn second of it.
Unfortunately, most mobile games seem to think of DRM (or at least the equivalent in that context) to be the norm. I don't think you'd find even a single big name mobile game (like the kinds you mentioned) that don't have "Access information about networks" and "Open network sockets" or "Access information about Wi-Fi networks" or "Allows sending in-app billing requests and managing in-app billing transactions" listed among their permissions, not to mention loads of suspicious and ad-pushing analytics (supposedly for our own good so that the devs can gauge how the games are played and improve on them) and this INCLUDES the stuff you'd see on Humble Bundle (haven't tried the other sources you've mentioned for Android games).

From the kind of stuff you're mentioning, it sounds like your mobile could handle it, so you might simply just try older games that use emulators of some sort (games that work on ScummVM or Dosbox equivalents or console emulators, etc).

Other than that, you'll get the occasional sparkle if you keep your eye out, but nothing exclusively geared towards being "DRM free"- for example, Five Nights at Freddy's series at least on Amazon's app store seems to have almost no permissions (no idea about analytics or ad network stuff), but I've heard the games themselves are rubbish.
Your best bet would be aiming lower, because the freeware/indie/"less professional" market has a lot of DRM-free enthusiasts.

Humble has been my solution, and it's been a great one so far. But, yeah, time limited deals. Still, if you keep up, you can get some great mobile games without microtrasactions and ads...

That which I even find most strange is that some guys, who've been playing PC games for as long as you have, are now getting completely into those stupid mobile games (shitty basic RPGs, mediocre strategy games, etc).
I once tried several strategy and RPG mobile games and I had to quit. I was feeling like going backwards 20 years (both in gameplay as in UI).

Sometimes I wonder if that "chemtrails" conspiracy theory is indeed correct. At least that would be a proper explanation for the sudden ammount of stupidity worldwide. :P

New Mobile Bundle deal just showed up on the Humble site. Every one of the games (and these are games that cost money you paid for :D) have in-app purchasing, can receive info from the internet, and have access to your phone profiles and IDs :P.

There's a couple of them on DotEmu too.

I'm pretty sure all of those games are sold shareware-like on Google Play where you can try them out and if you like it and want to continue then you can buy the rest of it in-game. I don't know how in-app purchasing could possibly work anyway since the Humble Games aren't connected to the Google Play store, so how would they charge you to make a purchase?

They're offered for free with in-app purchases (like on Google Play), and they're ALSO offered paid also with in-app purchases (also on Google Play store as well). When you install it on your android, it tells you a list of permissions required, which in this case includes your phone profile/IDs, as well as all the other stuff I mentioned. To be honest, I simply checked the permissions for those games (without downloading them), so I can't be certain they're different builds, but judging from previous experience with other android games I got off Humble Bundle, they're the same builds with the same "features".

Unfortunately, "DRM-free" culture is the furtherest thing from mobile gaming right now.
