gameLike1: Iam fed up with DRM.Its complicated, its error demanding it costs time. And the most important
is the game dont belongs to me. No More.

By the way, GOG is great. I can play my games everytime. Without errors like on Steam there i
have to connect to internet from time to time and load it again because its broken. I never buy on Steam again.
I only buy on GOG DRM free. I think it would be good starting a shitstorm "NO DRM" to the computer
games industry, to show we want today DRM free games from publishing on.

If many people STOP buying DRM games it has an IMPACT on the games industry for SURE !
Kickstarter games are mostly DRM free. An example that IT WORKS !
GOG is DRM free. The DRM FREE WAVE has no better time as now to became bigger.

"We are fed up with DRM !"
"We never buying DRM games again !"
"Change your mind and sell DRM free or SHUT UP !"

thanks for the posts so far, in this DRM-Free-Discussion-Post
and keep in mind its just for fun ;-)
Most of us are with you my friend. Problem is no matter how hard you try to sell GOG to steam fan boy, they will never except it. I've managed to get a few people over, but most won't come due to the lack of new titles. Best we can do is vote with our wallets, when you see a dev putting titles here, buy them. That will help publishers see this is a great platform to sell on
You do still know, does you do not OWN anything you pay for in this digital age?

You can not sell it.. you can not lend it.. you can not pass it on if you die.
You only get a personalized user license and no expiry date has been specified. It can be until you die.. the service goes out of business or they decide to change terms of service...

Shit here is not much different... only the technical protection aka. DRM is not applied...
GOG could've been the BEGINNING of change.. it clearly was not.. the war is lost...
with physical media fadeing in existance there simply be nothing left to collect. Heck todays physical releases already often have laughable value if they exist at all.

You DO realize, that these morons are your target audience, right?

drmike: I believe kickstarter games are usually Steam keys. At least the ones I've seen.
Most of the ones I've seen provide Steam keys, yes. But I've backed quite a number and all have provided DRM-free keys as well (I didn't back them unless the devs said there'd be DRM-free versions of the game). So if you do your research, you can find them.

Pheace: While I get your point, this is the most pointless place to post this. It's preaching to the choir.
It is good to remind the choir every now and again, in the face of micro-transactions plots,
and rogue Private Equity raiders on the loose destroying companies and industries with no
Regulatory protections or Judicial courage to stop them.

It is also good to keep our fondue forks sharp,
and our vats of steaming caramel on the burners,
should the need for an uprising arise. :P

Stay vigilant...
It doesn't need to be one or the other. It will be hard to convince people to stop buying if they are satisfied with the service. But just by buying games in GOG you are sending a message to the industry: that there is a market niche for DRM-free games. Keep supporting GOG and other DRM-free stores (or at least DRM-free games in other stores) and market analysts will hopefully have a word about us.

dudalb: If people want to play a spfecifi game that has DRM, they will tolerate the DRM in order to play. That's reality.
Can't agree with you there.

I want to play Syberia 3 so much! But it's infested with steam-DRM AND denuvo DRM. So I won't buy it.
When the DRM-infestation is removed, THEN I will buy it. But I will not give my money to DRM-infested games.

This is one of those times in which "LATEE!" would have been extremely appropriate.

That's a Discord joke for already-posted news, not an addition of similar opinion. Not to mention I don't think anybody brought up the GWENT point in the thread before I did.

No lol, I meant that you should have said it for the OP!
He showed up here to start the DRM crusade like 10 years late XD
But yeah, you're too serious on Gog :P

Wow i thought this was some old thread that someone did a necro on , yeah gog is the only place where you will have such a thread up , elsewhere either it will be locked out or the people there will chew you out.

The best way to go about this is "vote with your wallet " *

*i am sure the moment anyone sees the game they want is 75% off or above in sale they will get it drm or no drm.....

How could I stop doing something which I don't do in the first place?
Before I found some DRM-free indies as well as GOG and HB again all those years ago, I simply didn't buy any game for a long time. If there'd be only DRMed stuff available, I'd simply replay my old games and finish my backlog and/or tend to other hobbies.
