Misanthropic: Doom 3 is bad.
Agreed. Doom 3 is a terrible game and possibly the worst FPS ever. It's not even a real Doom game.

To put Doom 3 on GOG would be a bad thing, because that would result in innocent customers getting fleeced out of their money. When they see the name Doom, they are going to expect a Doom game, and then be upset later when they discover they bought a non-Doom game that was inappropriately mislabeled as Doom.

If you don't like Doom 3, fine, but .....who died and made you king,to decide what should be sold on GOG and what should not be sold?
I think Daikatana is one of the worst games ever made, but I am not going get pissed because GOG is offering it for sale.
This is just another example of the "HOW DARE PEOPLE LIKE SOMETHING I DON"T LIKE!" Mentality that is ,sadly, so widespread today.
And that attitude does not go ever well in the GOG forums.

Elmofongo: You better surprise me with a Doom 3 release tomorrow Bethesda and it better be the Origina with the Expansionl, not the BFG Edition :P
I'm sure they are taking what you say to heart and are revising their entire business plan as a result

And then we have somebody who would be angry if GOG did sell Doom 3............
Amazing how many people here thinks the world revolves around them, and their desires should be law.

dudalb: Skyrim I agree, but Doom 3 is over ten year old,I suspect that Betheda will let GOG have it.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Age doesn't guarantee release...
I would have expected Doom 3 over Fallout 3 or New Vegas, but here we are. I wouldn't lose hope.

Please, tell me more about myself, I'm fascinated.......
dudalb, chill. Frankly, you're the only one in the topic that seems legitimately upset. Did you even stop to consider that the intent of Ancient-Red-Dragon's post was to mock me?
I would love to see Black and White on GOG. It's been months. Nothing has happened. I'm not complaining though.

To be fair, I imagine Bethsoft will want this one to marinate for a while, maybe wait until the sale period is up.

Though I'd not be opposed to a BFG Edition here that included the original as a free bonus.

the bfg is worse, all we need is the original.

Besides the flashlight with gun in hand thing they did, What else was the problem cause I have seen threads bitching about the BFG release on steam but had no need to read the long posts lol

Ammo was fairly scarce in Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil.

BFG Edition adds a short new campaign called the Lost Mission. In it they focus more on action and dramatically increase the amount of ammo you get from pick ups. They very lazily did not bother to set the Doom 3 and BFG Edition ammo pick ups to the lower ammo count so you get ridiculous amounts of ammo through all parts of the game.

Doom 3 was hardly a survival horror game, but you could actually run out of ammo and you had to be careful.

There is also some odd censorship and removal of scenes. In Resurrection of Evil all the new arcade machines were replaced with Super Turbo Turkey Puncher from Doom 3 and the section where you where a hazmat suit was modified so a suit is no longer needed.

As a fanboy of id Software I still enjoyed BFG edition for new content like Lost Mission and No Rest For the Living for Doom 2 but it was a very sloppy release with no respect for those of us who actually loved Doom 3.
GOG has enough bad games.
Last time I checked you could actually chose which version you wanted on steam; why not offering the same here so people can chose for themselves?

I think the internet would be more peaceful without those fascists whose intent is to restrict something just because they are of a another opinion. Just because I personally don't like the BFG I certainly wouldn't deny anyone else access to it.

WinterSnowfall: "Three massive RPGs to last you a lifetime, 50% off" is their way of saying "I hope you're happy with these 3 for a lifetime, because we had to sell our children to Bethesda just to get them here" :).
Naah... Bethesda decided to sell them on GOG because they are super-popular and most people already own it. So people are gonna RE-BUY them here. It's the most profitable thing for a company, having customers that buy their products twice. Also, they did nothing to fix Fallout 3 on Steam, so it's more win-win for them.

Doom 3 probably is selling quite well because, after the reboot of the franchise, people are curious to buy and try it. After a while, they'll sell it here too. So people can buy it again XD

EDIT: and remember that companies like Bethesda or EA brings their old titles here because it's profitable for them. If they care about their products, they would fix them and sell them in their own stores.
