I bought Skyrim a couple weeks ago because everyone said that is the holy grail of modding, I already started to do and indeed, it's awesome.

But today when I logged in to Steam I was greeted with this:

I went in there last week and bought these mods.
*I shake my head*
You're doing it wrong.
Nobody uses the steam workshop for skyrim mods.
The only place to go is http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/

Actually I'm surprised they didn't start selling Slyrim mods earlier. TF2, Dota2, CS:GO and others have been rewarding modders monetarily for years.

So what's Valve's cut in this? You guys laugh, but there will be people that pay for this stuff.

"Ugh" pretty much sums up my thoughts on the matter.
It will affect all games that support Steam Workshop .

Amazing!
Some nerd is creating an item for Skyrim, puts it up for sale and Valve and Bethesda get a share. As a gamer this sucks, but from the business point of view this is the same business genius who established Steam trading cards and the community market. Yo earn money out of nothing aka other people work.

This will be interesting, we will learn about greed in the moding community...
I'll echo what was said above.

Most people with common sense do not get their mods through Steam Workshop. They go through Nexus (for many reasons).
as long as there isn't any rule for anyone to mod their game good thing i'd say. for 1-2 month the steamwork prob only fill with junk but i expect there will be also quality item.

For now; but will modders continue to put their stuff on sites like Nexus when they could be making money on Steam Workshop instead?
