Gearmos: Arx Fatalis is 50% off on Steam, but I want GOG's DRM-Free version. Come on GOG, I want it on 2015 DRM-FREE SUMMER SALE. :-)

By the way, Steam version has 5 languages and GOG's version has only English... :-/ That's not cool GOG!
+1

Silverio13: Yep, GOG needs to add more languages, its like the bad "old times" when its only english.
To be fair as someone whos mother language ain't English, the good old times really helped my English in the early school years.
Has anyone played Dead Effect? It looks like a fun FPS, definitely nothing groundbreaking or memorable but fun. I'm not a big fan of that one graphic effect it uses which I can't think of its name, but it makes blues/yellows/oranges way too sharp and bright when flashing or popping in. That new-ish effect that everybody hates but it's found its way to into a couple recent hyped high budget games. That one.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Darksiders series there was 7 euros cheaper than the package here

mobutu: cases of rental being cheaper, nothing new.
Certainly! You just forgot to quote the rest of my post!!! This is obvious, mandatory, the truth.

Anamorphic lens flare? That's the effect that everyone takes the piss out of J.J. Abrams for when he uses it in post-production.

DiscipleJF: People care about that sale? That's new. I generally filter it out of mind. Better deals on GOG. Edna & Harvey for 95% off? Oh yes!
GOG's sale would be better, yes, if they had more games in their catalog.

Haha! Thats true, but in my case what help me the most was films and tv series :P

Not new at all. What's new is that this year it actually seems to generate less buzz on the forums than in previous years, due to the awesome and supersaturating GOG sale. A few years back, GOG was still publicly speaking out against massive discounts of 75% and beyond, this year they seem to have outdone Steam with it.

Yep that looks about right. I'm sure that effect has its place, especially when it's used with good taste, but it often just ends up being a pain in my eyeballs.
m waiting for 75 % discount on Morrowind. But don't believe that this year 's be so much high.
It's sad that Bethessa doesn't have their games here:(
I like both GOG and Steam sales and Humble Bundle Sales. Competition is only good.
If there were only steam sales they could do whatever they wanted and it would be sucky.

So yeah the more the marier.

I agree with you. My wishlist will be huge if they add the 5 European Languages, but GOG prefers save the money of the copyrights and I prefer keep my money.

If they add the languages I will buy a lots of games, for example:

Arx Fatalis, Ultma VII & VIII; Might & Magic VI, VII, VII and IX; Baldur's Gate II Enhanced edition (German & Spanish on Steam and here only in english); D&D DragonShard, F.R: Demon Stone, Dungeon Keepeer 2, Myst Saga, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, C.B. Undying, FarCry 2, Silver, Indiana Jones and the emperor's Tomb, The settlers 2: 10th anniversary, Rayman 2, PoP sands of Time, PoP Warrior within, PoP the two thrones, Simon the sorcerer 2, advent rising, messiah (dotemu realeased it with 5 languages http://www.dotemu.com/es/descargar-juego/4193/messiah), Hitman 1 (it's too late for the rest, I bought it on DVD), Anvil of dawn, in cold blod, Screamer 1 and 2, ect, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

I know that some games was not released with multiple languages. Of course!, I can play in English, but I refuse to receive here a worse service that Steam gives. So, please, continue updating games with languages.

Yeah. I said, Gog you need more languages. More languages, more sales.

What's so bad about it?

In the "old days" you got games that featured multiple languages and the translations where most of the time horribly bad.
Other games, especially the Lucas Arts Adventures just aren't fun in any other languages since you can't translate most of the jokes, so you have to replace them with inferior ones. I mean Monkey Island 1 in german was fun back then but once i played the original i never go back. Same with Sam & Max where the german voice over is atrocious with some very bad casting choises (Max has the german voice of Bart Simpson which just doesn't fit at all)

On top of that some games are even better in the english version. Historyline 1914-1918 for example got some more balancing work done when it was translated to english while the german version remained in it's rather unbalanced state.

That horrendous intonation of "Freunde? Freunde?" still echoes in my head to this day. It sounded like the voice actor didn't want to wake the neighbours in the dubbing studio.
