I'm in the process of switching to a new computer, and am trying to backup my currently 160GB Steam library for the transfer using the built in Backup feature. However, the process hangs on a screen that says "Please wait while the backup archives are being compressed and saved...". It's been on this screen for the last 40 minutes, and my computer doesn't sound like it's doing anything. Did something break, or am I just going to have to wait it out?

I'd advise copying your SteamApps folder to the new computer with Steam installed over using the built in backup feature... can you you cancel?

Yeah, I guess I'll have to do it that way. There must be a size limit or something, whenever I do the backup procedure it works just fine.

Compressing that amount of data is probably slowing your computer to a crawl, not to mention it would probably take a long to time to compress.
