My, how the tides have turned! Deus Ex dominated the first insomnia.

GJ!

Gnostic: So the successor for keane is Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers?

Maybe Gabriel father is keane.
Well that depends on what you consider a keane to be. If it's all rounds added together, then Gab is the winner. But if it is just the individual rounds, then it would be MIND: Path to Thalamus. Though Gab is still second.

It is interesting when looking at the first two rounds of those games, they had decent copies being sold per minute, Then the third round that went to hell.

Maybe that's due to different region preference? Maybe people that like Adventure games are asleep in that region while people who don't are in another region.

Or people who like adventure games succumb to the insomnia.

And who would like adventure games? I am under the impression that younger people prefer blood pounding FPS / RTS / ARPG to adventure games. So maybe the older people cannot take insomnia as well as the younger people?
Incredible amount of work and very nicely presented!
This is absolutely stunning work! I can't +1 you enough.

Good stuff! And some surprise entries in there that challenge a bit of the conventional wisdom. Thanks for pulling these stats together!

I think the "Nox hype" in the tracker thread had quite some influence. I suspect an EA sleeper agent in out midst ;-)

I'd say it definitely did. That sucker flew like lightning when it came up during the discussion. :)
