In an odd way, I need to thank Stardock. After they sold Impulse to GameStop, GameStop canceled my Witcher 2 pre-order, which was what really got me to move to GOG.com for digital games.

I also remember the Gamer Bill of Rights fallout after SoaSE: Rebellion was revealed as requiring Steam. That was a disappointment to me after playing so much SoaSE, but the real kicker was when Wardell said on the forums that the anti-Steam crowd was too small to be worth catering to. I'll be buying SoaSE: Trinity and Rebellion the day they launch on GOG.com as much to play SoaSE again and finally play Rebellion as to say that offering DRM-free games is always worth the effort.

Money talks.

Sins of solar empire!welcome stardock
Frankly speaking, I don't believe my eyes! GOG are wizards. Welcome aboard Stardock!
Yay! I'm FINALLY going to get to play Fallen Enchantress!

GOG even knew that I ALWAYS screw up the publisher / developer / whatever of this game and was nice enough to include the fact that it was releasing in their announce thread, just so I couldn't mess it up one last time ;)

Hehe and now he is catering to you could call us the anti steam crowd.

Just noticed FLAC soundtrack with Gal Civ 3, ah more happy dreams.

tfishell: That's fantastic GOG (though not my genre), but why are you acting like Stardock wasn't already here, albiet only with GalCiv 1 at first? :)
Heh. Well, Stardock was still pretty clingy to their original DRM platform, but they seem to have ditched it lately, starting with GalCiv 3. I noticed there wasn't a "3rd party DRM Stardock" thingy next to the game on steam. So, I'm guessing it'd be weird to announce things aloud, if Stardock had gone full-throttle on the DRM road, and do not plan to release anymore games here. Plus, they don't have as big a back catalog, like EA or something. GalCiv 1 would be the only game here.
When will Stardock let us to redeem their games that are on our Stardock account on Gog ?
Amazing news! They've released some of my absolute favourite games like Sins of a Solar Empire.

Damn GOG. First SSI and now Stardock too. You're on a roll. :D

Wait is Demigod getting here too? It didn't get much publicity but it's a great game!

Yeah that would be real great!

Edit: Any chance of us getting any of their software here? Fences for example.

HOLY FRIGGIN CRAP HOLY MOLY HOLY SMOKES!!!!

Thank you Frogboy!!!!!!

Hope you're reading this, Mr. Wardell. Thank you so much for changing your mind, because I never would have bought GCIII anywhere else with DRM.

Take my money. Here, in big fistfuls, I want you to have it.

My favorite Frogboy story: I was a Day-1 customer of the original GalCiv. But I couldn't get it to install - this was long enough ago to still have to configure things to get it to work. I went on to the Stardock site - which I frequented back then - and went into the chatroom to try and get some help.

And I had my entire problem troubleshot, identified, and fixed so that I could start playing. By Brad Wardell.
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion?
YES!
Glad to hear Offworld will be a day-1 at GOG. I was afraid of it being another sodding Steamsclusive as Stardock was so loving to do (despite all those years of charading as "pro-consumer, anti-drm") and going to keep Soren's work out of our hands.

^Legit.

Welcome Stardock, I've been a long time fan of your games after some of my friends sat me down to try them and have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to purchase them for a long time now but as someone who does not buy products unless they are DRM-free I haven’t had the option.
So thank you GOG for these giving me the chance to pick up these games, and welcome Stardock to the DRM-free party I’m glad I finally have an option to support your work :)
