Part of me thinks Disney is intentionally putting a mediocre trailer out there to temper expectations. They could throw together some clips of the Star Wars Holiday Special and have Jar Jar binks narrate the trailer and it would still break records on opening week. It's usually better to go into a movie like this with low expectations and then be pleasantly surprised than to have all this built up hype and then be let down.

That makes sense.

RandomJC: How about we all take a step back and realize this is a teaser and by no means a way to judge the movie yet.
That was my reaction when I saw it just now. It showed nothing.

For all I know it just looks like a very enthusiatic well made Fan Trailer.

Also the sequence of the Sith guy in the snowy forest reminded me of the trailers to Force Unleashed 2:

Breja: That's nice dear. Glad you stopped by to share that.
My proper reaction. Sorry about the earlier post I made.

I'm thinking Mordor with the Sith guy. Actually it feels like a blend of Starship Troopers and LotR films. Something like Mordor is awakening and threatening the galaxy?

Possible. I don't know. I know I'm not alone when I say I just want Hollywood to stop making things suck. I would very much like to enjoy the non-suck version of things for a while. At this point I'm so tired of CGI and ADD-editing that I'd love the shit out of a 2 hour film with Luke just sitting around getting high as fuck and talking about how awesome the force is.
hi guys I only found out about this site today so i'm not sure if this is a good place to ask but I'm wanting to play star wars kotor, I have an old disk but couldn't get that to work on a windows 8 machine cos I'm not great with computers. I thought about getting it from steam but assumed I'd have the same problems, does anyone know if I buy it from gog will I still need to mess about with patches and all that or will it just install ready to play on windows 8.1? cheers
Not impressed, I have to say.

Emob78: After 3 garbage prequels and and a mountain of godawful novels, it's high time SW made a comeback. I just hope it isn't too late to bring it back from the dark side.
This! I've read lots of Star Wars books before the prequels came out. I absolutely loved the X-Wing series, the Thrawn trilogy and the Hand of Thrawn books. But the prequels... I don't know what happened, but suddenly most books were completely awful... The Darth Bane trilogy was pretty decent and Allegiance and Choices of One aren't bad either. But that's it... The other books just sucked.

I don't care that much for Disney's films. Maybe they'll be good, maybe they'll suck. I can live with two or three more awful Star Wars films. I mean... Come on, we've survived THIS! Disney can't do worse... But I really, really, REALLY hope that their films will provide a good basis for enjoyable books. Get rid of this clone wars anime crap. No more Han Solo on a ship full of zombie troopers -.- Give us a story that allows for good books! That's all I want.
Well... Nothing happened in it, altho seeing the typical Disney teen-ish cast is not exactly making me optimistic. Nonetheless - Star Wars was a fairy tale set in space. If Disney goes that route as opposed to teenage comedy or power fantasy, they most likely know what they're doing.

HEY!
I quitelike the zombie one. It was stupid and made no cannonical sense. And thematically fit no where in the star wars universe...but i still enjoyed it.

You remember Yoda's "path to the dark side" quote? His "fear leads to anger, anger to hate, hate to suffering"-blah? The Ewok film and the zombie book are the shortcut to the dark side! They don't take the long way round, they lead to suffering directly!

Sorry, just teasing you a bit ;P

I will not call them quality but i enjoyed the book. At least it didn't spend an entire series killing every character who was luke Leia and Han...
