Maybe here?
If compatibility trick with older systems doesn't work for you:

1. download and install Universal Extractor 1.7.9.95Y (gora mod)
2. copy your Soldier of Fortune CD content to hard disk
3. go to folder where you copied SoF (Setup folder is the one you're interested in)
4. right click on data1.cab and choose Uniextract to folder
5. let unpacker do its job
6. go to folder with extracted content (data1) and double click SoF.exe : )
7. if game crash, download and replace fixed ref_gl.dll
8. to update the game, download and unpack Soldier of Fortune Gold Patch, copy sof106patch.exe to folder with SoF and run it. Should update your game to gold version even if not properly installed.
9. don't forget about SoFplus if you want widescreen, fully violent game ; )

just tested on Soldier of Fortune Platinum with Win7x64 and many other older games in the past.. I'm pretty sure it will work with regular version of SoF.

btw, fully agree, game should be already on gog along with many others I'd like to have as digital copy.
