Elmofongo: Games like Dungeon Siege, Grand Theft Auto, Mechwarrior, the classic Battlefield games and even Call of Duty 1, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Bishock etc.

morolf: Grand Theft Auto is just totally decadent, completely evil series of games. Countless youths have been seduced into a life of crime by it...only to find that it isn't glamorous at all when you've been sentenced to life without parole. That series should never come to Gog anyway, for moral reasons.
Don't really know about the other games. Mechwarrior sounds kind of dubious as well tbh, we don't need any people imitating it and fighting in giant mechs on public streets.
Not to mention that hot coffee mod giving tons of young impressionable kids unrealistic expectations of what sex would be like. Think of all the young men now who think that sex is just a mini game. Or the young girls who have unrealistic expectations of beauty and think they’re only pretty if they’re made of rough polygons.

Elmofongo: I remember this site prided itself on being a haven for classic old-school PC games that makes them run on modern hardware, and DRM Free to boot.

Now all I see just indie games that in my eyes are just not as interesting as the classics.

So why the hell haven't some classics have been released here by now?

Games like Dungeon Siege, Grand Theft Auto, Mechwarrior, the classic Battlefield games and even Call of Duty 1, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Bishock etc.

Even some games that are missing their older itereations like Rainbow Six 3, SimCity 1 and Civilization 1 and 2.

And we still don't have certain publishers like Microsoft with thier Age of Empires games (and they are selling it on Steam) or SEGA that holds the rights for Total War and 40k Dawn of War games.

AND WE STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN DUKE NUKEM BACK!?

So what's the plan now GOG because right now I clearly see that we are barely Good Old Games anymore.

And this isn't me forsaking this place, I am still supporting you regardless for DRM Free and a much more diverse library of classic games and modern games and interesting indie games but still give us who wants more classic games a bone here.

I mean heck try to convince Valve and Blizzard to give us their old as fuck games.

Just for peoples info, the Dungeon Siege games have nothing to do with Microsoft anymore. They were bought, lock, stock, the whole fuck'n lot by Square Enix. Square Enix are the publisher of all the Dungeon Siege games on Steam.
Don't forget the biggest disgrace of them all: Heretic and Hexen. Shame on you GOG.

FFS even ZAR is on Steam and not here. What twisted reality do we live in?

Just checked the Steam page, and currently Dungeon Siege Collection is 85% off, with my regional pricing about $1.33. Gonna buy it tomorrow I guess.

AB2012: Personally, I gave up waiting and grabbed the DRM-Free AoE 1-2 Collectors Edition (on DVD-ROM vs original CD-ROM) .....
Is is this "professionally" done edition with broken soundtrack which I also happen to have? I hate having to constantly play the music in the background because they couldn't even be bothered to launch the game once before releasing it to see that something so obvious was broken.... Really shows how much they care about quality and value customers.

And I also always wondered what role did Ubisoft have in this release with its name and logo being more visible than Microsoft which owns it. If Ubisoft was responsible for this "edition", that might explain the lack of QA.

The documentary by Noclip about GOG from a few months ago does an excellent job at explaining the process behind bringing classic (and modern) games to the store, and why not every game that GOG wants can be sold here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffngZOB1U2A

That usually only applies to Americans with low income and/or lack of job, bad influence/environment, and low intelligence.

Thanks to "Barbie & Ken" people are changing their appearances/sex just to look like them. We need to ban them as well for destroying the "millennials"!

That was mostly likely a Poe's Law forum post

Elmofongo: ... why ...
I think it's unlikely that GOG wouldn't want to have them, so I can think only of a couple of reasons like:

- legal or technical issues (for those classics which aren't sold anywhere)
- DRM issues (for those classics only sold somewhere else)
- competition issues (for those classics only sold somewhere else)

I think you underestimate the legal and technical challenges. There is no guarantee that every classic game still runs flawlessly on modern systems. And if there is a legal problem, then it's simply the end of the game for this particular game.

Classics that are sold somewhere else but not here, you can assume that the owners don't want to have them here. Nothing GOG can do about it. But you could buy them elsewhere.

I say this although I would like to have more classics too. The wishlist is still full of great games.

Does this include the expansion packs (or "gold editions") of the first two games? I recall the Steam versions are still missing the expansions, the last I checked like half a year ago or so.

Similar story as with Diablo Hellfire?
Hm, let's see:

I dare say you've hung around here for long enough to know, that such threads make no sense.

I have this version too, and to be honest I'm not sure what they could have done about it. I don't think it's possible to put redbook audio on a DVD.

Well, maybe they could state somewhere in bold letters "In-game music does NOT work" for starters. I expect a Collector's Edition to be a wholesome package. If the music from DVD doesn't work, they should have included an audio CD with it or just don't sell it. It was like I bought a car but after delivery found out that one of the wheels isn't included. Music in AoE2 is a pretty important aspect.
