Ok, never had or heard of overdelivery here, maybe this only applies if one has the highest speed booked.

Well I certainly don't expect it to be that fast all the time. So far it's rather jaw-dropping compared to what I had before though. DLed Dreamfall Chapters later in the night (just over 8 GBs) and it took under 10 minutes. Would have been hours before.

timppu: Was this from GOG? Using the browser, or Galaxy?
From GOG using the DLer.

Thinking about this, The Business is right that this doesn't make sense. Shaw has this 'speed boost' gimmick (or used to, at least) where they significantly crank up your DL speed for the first 2 minutes, though. Perhaps this is what made it so fast on that first attempt. I don't know. But it was lightning fast. Anyway, I've DLed a few more games since and I'm just really happy that they're not taking hours anymore.
I have the rogers ignite 150 down 15 up package for 47 dollars cause of some thing with being with them for 15+ years. but yeah dude you notice the major speed increase. I downloaded world of warcraft 70gb game in 2 hours with this speeds and my old 50 down pack too me 8 hours or so...

rogers tend to give major discounts when you have tv and home phone so we found a way to cheat the system and get the bundle and then cancel the other so we just kept the internet for dirt cheap even though it goes for 90 Dollars.

got a pic of the deals we get in Toronto. not bad tbh

Oh. I thought you upgraded the actual internet. You know, the thing that binds us in this infinite loop of pain and sorrow that will never let us leave.

Oh, I did. But it's DRMed right now, so I can't actually access it...

Crosmando: And people still keep sprouting the meme that Australia has bad internet... I have a 1TB monthly limit and about 2.9MB per sec dld speed, come at me.
Not that spectacular actually. That's 22.4 Mbit connection, with the Australian average peak connection speed being 41.9 Mbit in 2015. Global average was 32.2 Mbit.

And considering that only 7.4 % of all Australian internet connections were 15 Mbit or higher, Id' say the meme is true. For comparison, Germany had 19 % over 15 Mbit and we're still considered a third world country when it comes to internet speed...

GR00T: did a bit of juggling with the package deal and got Internet150 from Shaw.

Oh.My.God.

The speed. I just DLed Titan Quest - a 5.6 GB file, which took me hours on the old plan. Less than 2 minutes on this new one.

And the beauty is it's not costing me any more than what we were paying before. Damn. I likes me new internet package.
Good job that you can DL it that fast, especially considering it'll be full DL "patched" until the end of times ;p

Yeah, and that's the reason I chose that one to DL first. I'd been waiting instead of grabbing the patched version every time a new patch was pushed out.
Congratulations! I'm in the same boat, upgraded just last week. From 0.2 MB/s to 5.8 MB/s. Where I used to plan ahead carefully and started large downloads days in advance, I am now flexible and spontaneous. How exciting...
Congrats :)
