I was looking up to see whether Darkest Dungeon might release DRM free versions upon release, and found a funny comment I just had to share.

I'm sorry, I have no idea who to link like a pro.

I'm kinda surprised people like this still exist, but then again, I guess I'm being just as naïve as this guy:

"Red Hook, I hope you guys don't start selling this game at GOG or similar outlets. Almost all the pirated copies of games on the Internet come from GOG. You should expect there to be a much higher rate of piracy if you give away your game without DRM, especially a game without a multiplayer component that requires a user to login to verify their installation."

Good news though, as it seems they will definitely be selling DRM free versions upon release. The Steam version is still DRM free but hey... I like my neatly packed GOG installers. It looks like a fantastic game!
We had someone who came in here last year and started a thread, IN HERE, about why this was the case. He prefaced it with something along the lines of, "I'm a lifelong Steam user and I hate GOG but I felt the need to come in here and educate you...." I can't remember his login but I wonder if its the same guy. :P
He can enjoy his subscription. I'll enjoy my backup drive full of awesome DRM-free games.
I guess that guy is a angry employee of a pro-DRM publisher. :))

Gee that sounds really brave. It would have made for nice conversation, I imagine! Wonder where I was at the time, because I saw nothing of it :(
BREAKING NEWS: AND IDIOT ON STEAM FORUM. People run to the hills, the Pope declares the end of days. More as we get it.

I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH SO LOW IQ

I find it more possible that the DRM security companies bushiness is dwindling.

hmm so I'm the only who's weird because I switched from pirate to GoG version as soon as they come out on GoG.
maybe I better go to be normal again
*searching torrents*
Well, as always the topic gets knit picked and becomes waste of time.

Thank you Breja and Gnostic.
high rated
It's true.

Before GOG, there were hardly any pirated games. In fact, they were extremely hard to find and even when you did find some, they certainly weren't new or current games. Nope, you guys just don't remember your history at all, do you?

Sorry, didn't mean to upset you. But seriously, you make a whole thread about a one stupid post from a different forum... what did you expect? I'm not really sure what was supposed to happen here, to not be a waste of time?
Technically yes, there are torrents of games uploaded which are GOG versions(with considerable number of seeders), but calling it the reason for piracy is stupid.
