Updated the list of available games as catpower1980 donated 3 keys for his game High In The Sky + Soundtrack. Thanks! :)
I'm a big fan of Itch, I've found a lot of great games there that for whatever reason haven't made it to Steam or here.

I'm not in, but kudos on the giveaway!

dtgreene: Not in, but there is a freeware bullet hell shmup available on the site.

Jigoku Kisetsukan: Sense of the Seasons
http://emad.itch.io/jigoku-kisetsukan

The game appears to be in the Touhou style, which is a bit different from the approach taken by games like Crimzon Clover.
Thanks for the heads up, i didn't know about that game before. :)
I'll have to dig through the free games list and post some more good ones in the OP.
*Bump*
I have an Itch.io account, but I don't really know how the service works. I'd be really interested to play a game by a fellow GOGer, though--so I'd like to be in for one of those High In The Sky copies, if you don't mind!

Just a heads-up: my rep is currently 42. I've been experiencing a lot of rep attacks from scammers lately, so I might dip below that by the time you see my post. Hopefully not, though.
May I take part in this giveaway ? to make it merrier.

I am in for The LootCastle.

Just made my itch.io account though... after I thought I already made it when there was 3D jam Leap Motion event.

You just should have +40 rep when you enter this giveaway, it doesn't matter if you get downvoted later. So of course you're in. ;)

Good to know. :) Thanks for the giveaway! +1

Apparently Itch.io isn't a super-popular service on GOG. I hope that's not indicative of its overall popularity--it would be a shame to see it tank like Desura.

Impaler26: Seeing that Desura is as good as dead i decided to make a small giveaway to promote another store that sells those quirky and weird indie games: itch.io
Damn you, Impaler. I'd never heard of this site before & now I've been clicking around on it for an hour and a half...

To give some behind-the-scenes data, I'll take the example of the ongoing "build a greenlight 29" (still one day left):

3205 bundles sold, thus that would theorically make potentially 3205 DRM-Free copies of my game available as it's a "free" bonus for bundle owners

=> So far, 424 itch.io keys have been redeemed for it

It would have been interesting to have an humble widget besides to make a comparison of the "conversion rate" but that will be for next time probably ^o^

Thanks for the info! That's super interesting. Those numbers aren't the most encouraging, but still better than I worried they might have been. Hopefully Itch.io keeps gaining traction.

Yep, it's not too popular around here - as expected. :D

I hope that at least a few people will have a look at itch.io as they have tons of DRM-Free games not available on GOG.

One example is Daisia - A game made by GOG member adambiser who also made Kilgazar and Boot Hill Blaster.

What i really like about itch.io is that you can donate for free games which is a nice way to support developers.
