I would like to explore other options as I have limited bandwidth, and now that games include Galaxy with the install (even with a check box opt out) in the download, I would like to find a site that sells DRM free games and with no client.

I am not looking to start a debate on the pros or cons of the recent announcement (that can be done here......https://www.gog.com/forum/general/offline_installers_with_an_option_to_install_gog_galaxy/page1)

Just trying to find a place where I can purchase DRM free games without having to download or install a client.

Thanks!

Humble Store
IndieGameStand
Fireflower Games

Also, remember that with indie games you can often buy the game DRM-free straight from the devs. Always worth looking into.

^In addition to those, remember you could always check eBay. I still look there for my DRM/Client-free games. Sometimes you can get physical CDs for a price that's even cheaper than GOG. Just make sure to check you're buying real CD and not Steam keys or CDs that actually contain a Steam installer.

Also, itch.io. Lots of good indie games there, if you don't mind filtering out the lots of game jam entries and experimental prototypes in there.

It's also got a client, but that one is still optional in the most strict sense of the word.

On which of those sites can you pay with Paysafecard?

I've... no idea, honestly. I've never used it, don't even really know what it is.
Don't you want to wait and see how large the effect of the Galaxy stuff will be. Normally it shouldn't be more than a couple 100KB/installer if they do it right. And for example on Humble the DRM free game support is even worse. They rarely get updates, their packaging is chaotic. Gog has its flaws but still it's the best DRM free store out there.

does someone knows/uses itch.io?
Yes, would agree with blotunga here, humble store only has a couple of drm free games of any interest (bioshock, tin man games), they mainly focus on steam keys now, and the stuff they do get rarely gets updated and rarely has anything else with it.

Itch.io you really need to filter through, and they already have a client so they are on their way down. Fireflower I haven't really looked at.

I would also be interested in any other stores, even if they backtrack on this latest disaster it is a stay of execution at best.

Do also remember you can get physical copies off amazon - usually quite cheap. True you then have to disc image, patch, nocd and tweak in a lot of circumstances (which is what we originally paid money to GOG to do for us) however this is good work and you get a good idea of the underlying problems of software moving forward and changing has on old products, and will give you a good grasp of what is going wrong behind that big old play game button. I actually went through my whole physical game collection years back (thousands!!) and did this, and was slowly replacing them with GOG installers where possible, however that is now finished, so will go back to that process and save money. Take Baldurs Gate, you can get it for the price of postage, disc image, big world mod, you have a massive game all in one with 35gb of mods installed all working fine on modern machine, or you could pay £16 + £16 + £15 then install the mods.

I have brought a few games off there (couple of bundles and a shooter), was pretty good. Even got a thank you email from the developers. There aren't the big name games on there of course, but you may find a gem or two.

Cool, thanks. Hadn't heard of this one. Website looks a bit awful, but I see ascension to the throne there which I got off strategyfirst (another store I used before they went all steam key only), but no ATTT Valkyrie. Shame. Will have a good look through later.

They have a few nice games not available on GOG so it's worth checking their store.
And you don't have to buy a game if you wanna try how things work, just create an account and add one of their free games like Death Rally to it. ;)
About discs: One can do real finds at flea markets, especially games with licenses as they usually must not be sold new after a certain date. There are 'disc' versions of games where all the disc contains is a downloader for Steam's client...

Thanks! Didn't know ZOOM yet - and with the new Galaxy strategy it is starting to look necessary to look for an alternative to GOG.
There is also Playism, which is the official store of Active Gaming Media (publishers of games like Astebreed, La-Mulana and Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight), who have quite a few games DRM-Free that are not available on GOG (like Dreadout, NightCry and One Way Heroics), but note that they do have Steam-only games. They currently have a 6th Anniversary sale, so take a look below and you may find something that interests you:
