Cool. I liked both games (well, all three really), and I was hoping we'd see another. Even more so as the ending to SW2 didn't really make much sense to me.

The additions sound cool (environmental kills and the grappling hook) and the prior entries were great, I'll definitely get it at some point, but should they decide to make it an experience more like Shadow Warrior 2013 than Shadow Warrior 2 this is going to be an instabuy.

I liked the second game, don't get me wrong, but I'm not a fan of all the different stats and elemental damage types, it felt too RPG-y, almost like you could spec into different builds, like an Assassin build with a high crit chance or a tank that deals less damage, but can take a few punches.
Oh, and looter shooters aren't my cup of coffee either. :P

Edit: Since this is Devolver Digital this will most likely be a day one gog release.

This game isn't about story, but rather massive slaughtering of demons. ;) SW2 was great and I expect nothing less from SW3.

True, but I still like Wang and Kamiko as characters, and their banter added a lot to making the demon slaughter fun, so I cared just enough to be a bit put off by the WTF "and then a dragon ate him the end".

I expect this game to have a lot of glory kills.

By the way, seeing this trailer for a third time, especially the "spine rip" moment, made me wonder if Lo Wang is more suitable for MK11 than all those boring guest film characters?

I am in two minds about this.
The first one of the new games was great, actually had a really good story for a FPS. True, linear, but great combat, and humour.

The second lost a lot. There was not story, levels were randomised. Graphically it was all flashy shaders, and special effects meaning most of the time you couldn’t see what was going on. I didn’t get any sense of it being humorous. Just a bit of a let down in every area.

Now when I put that together with the way the new doom games have gone, I.e. all of what I don’t like appears to be popular, this doesn’t bode well for a 3rd instalment.

They were originally just going to have anyone interested send a SASE to the Devolver home office but then they realized the amount of work that would put on the 80 year old guy who single-handedly runs their mail room and thought better of it. Plus, you know, they had to account for a lot of millennials not knowing what a SASE is.
