agentcarr16: ............
I still see no talk of a national spy network to employ my considerable talents. I am disappointed.
I practicing disappointing my constituents so when I actually get to be president I'll be a disappointment machine.

blotunga: Trent noms Lift, skip Carr, skip, Sir P, Lift noms Joe. [interpolated]

JoeSapphire: What do you reckon to this plan Trent? I can get behind it.

I'm nor sure what rtcvb's getting at with 'we're eventually certain to draw three Fs.' Would you suggest a course of action?

Also, thanks Bucket x
I can get behind this plan. Interested to hear what others think of it.

trentonlf: I plan to nominate flub as my Chancellor, thoughts?
Why flub? Sure, his 'I am Hitler' was formulated as a joke. But knowing Flubb, he might very well make exactly such a joke if he really were Hitler. Plus his question to Scene, asking for clarification on a point (why vote NO) which Scene had already elaborated on in a quite verbose fashion, shows that flubb didn't really read the thread. Or at least didn't pay attention. To me, that question looked like fake activity. Flubb saw a chance to appear inquisitive with minimal effort.

In conclusion, while I didn't agree with scene's reasoning for voting NO on the first government, flubb's question was strange and I don't trust him right now.

blotunga: I would pick Lift as a chancellor. If your government gets voted, you can test him, if you guys ennact a L, we can skip both SirPrimalForm and Agentcarr's government and put up Lift for president. Who can safely choose Joe as chancellor because even if he is Hitler he has to enact a L. That would either bring us 3-0 or find out a lot.
I like this plan much more than flubb as Chancellor! (or, really, anyone else but flubb, at the moment)
Of course my plan might have a slight flaw if trent is scum and he passes 2 F to Lift. Then goes on saying that he passed LF and that lift is scum.

If that happens, we have to re-evaluate. In any case such a conflict would make both trent and me suspicious and make it safer play to exclude us from future governments for the time being. Because if such a conflict happens, where two players disagree about which cards were passed, one of them usually is a fascist. But that's the point of testing players. Not only the chancellor is tested, but the president as well.

A 1 vs 1 conflict isn't the worst here. We can disable you both and still come ahead.

ZFR: A 1 vs 1 conflict isn't the worst here. We can disable you both and still come ahead.
I'm still suspicious about zfr and joe. Zfr's logical choice (non-random) for chancellor should've been one of the next 3 in line for presidency.
avatar
blotunga: If you get 4L and 0f and no L was discarded, you still have 3F and 2 L before reshuffle. The odds are not as bad as you think. With 1L discarded by ZFR there still would be 4F and 1L, still a 60% chance of drawing at least a L.
When you start getting 75% chance of every card you draw being a Fascist card... It's far more how many cards are left and less the odds.

Not saying impossible, I'm saying it's highly unlikely.

There is something to that. Yes. It basically boils down to the question: do you believe ZFR that he did use random.org? Or do you assume that he used his well known random.org addiction as cover to maneuver Joe into a position where he could 'prove' himself as 'Liberal'?

If this site had a [dice] feature, you could roll a dice, then use that. But otherwise you have to take him at his word. Random and selected have the same odds of being chosen.
In god we trust, everyone else we watch. He still might be scum and joe Hitler. But Hitler gets dangerous after the 3rd fascist policy is enacted. So joe is a safe bet for a next chancellorship also.

Or, instead of choosing Joe as Chancellor, you can choose me.

We can get to that when we get there.
So, trent, do we get an official nomination?
