kusumahendra: I don't like people proposing "sure fire" method to win this game. I mentioned earlier how Fascist wants Liberals to lower their guard. Also, while it looks like a safer bet, it is still a bet. But I admit, Lift strategy looks good, so I'll take a closer look to how it will roll and vote according to situation.

So with this I just want to remind you all, Please be warned that the proposed method to win might also be a trap by fascist, so please calculate the risk and vote wisely

Now my question is, who are we going to pick as the next 2 Chancellors? A totally new person, or a tested one? Given the probability of electing at least 1F policy (I'm predicting the next two would be both 2F policies), should we risk creating doubt for a safe bet if he's unlucky to be given 2F cards, or should we use this chance to test the water with new people?
There are still two liberal cards. So technically we could win this game in the first round, without any fascist policy being passed.

Mods updated the "voted" post on the first page but didn't announce formally the nomination, this is why I and probably the rest didn't send a vote. Sending vote now anyway.
You see what this does to me? What this non-bolding of official propositions does to me? It hurts. It hurts me so bad, yet all of you persist. Why? Why do you cut me to my very core like this?
I mean, it was bolded this time around, but, like, the first couple of times it wasn't threw me for a loop. I'm still recovering from the jet lag.

CURRENT PROPOSED GOVERNMENT
President: Bishop Bling (ZFR)
Chancellor: Mr. Scene (supplementscene)

Please PM me your yes/no votes on whether you wish for this setup or not, if you haven't done so already. There must be a majority "yes" for this to pass.

You winked at me first!

RWarehall: I think that part seems pretty obvious.

Scene goes now as the only eligible player who has been tested at all.
Then Greek goes next as the most confirmed.
This allows Greek to chose the most liberal player when he becomes president.

In the same government with ZFR?

This is something I have been considering as well, but to be honest I don't have the energy to put enough effort in trying to calculate odds and such - is it a good idea to risk a "confirmed" player when there is what might be the biggest chance of RNG screwing it up for us or is it a better moment for going with another combo?

Anyway, I want to vote for Scene + ZFR but my gut makes me doubt whatever reads I have in that particular government. I think I'll sleep on it as it was a long day and I just got had a few drinks and will cast my vote in the morning,.

Technically yes. And I sure do hope so. But don't forget, the calculations of 2L cards left is based on reports by both presidents and Chancellors. And we don't have any way to confirm if a president is telling the truth.

I'm assuming with whomever is voted in next. If enough people have reservations about ZFR and it's voted down, presumably the next presidential candidates will see the same bit of obvious. Seemingly that might also be me.

Maybe I'm seeing the game in a different way from some. To me, I'm not looking at it from the viewpoint of testing anyone or gaining more information. We'll do that of course, but to me that happens throughout the game no matter what the choices. The way to win is enhancing the chances to "harvest" the liberal cards if they are drawn (i.e. not have them be dumped by the fascists) since there are fewer of them. You do that by passing the governments that seem to have more inclination to pass a liberal agenda assuming they get one. Or, in other words, make every elected government be composed of the those who seem among the more credible players in the game as opposed to the truly unknowns or distrusted if possible.

I tend to trust ZFR, some others seemingly don't. Another downside is that if the plan is to cycle back to Greek in the fewest possible governments, the next government has to be Cristi and some may not trust her as much as Brasas or Blotunga. I can see those as fair assessments. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with an extra government before Greek's if that meant both ZFR and mine pass. I don't think the extra step would really hurt us, but skipping one of us doesn't really hurt either. I think however we play it, given our lead, we will probably win as long as we stick with the general philosophy of passing credible governments where possible and don't draw the crappiest cards possible every time..
^precisely.

That's why I said all we need now is those 2 extra goals. And why I picked scene as the most logical candidate.

Yes, he is the most logical candidate. Passing those last two liberal policies is more important than testing remaining players.
Everything said in the past few posts makes such a good sense and that is making me paranoid. Especially the fact that RW is so supportive of ZFR. I'm afraid I'm starting to tunnel-vision and am skewing my own views but my dad has told me that "when you are hesitating about doing something that much better not do it at all". I'm voting no.
That means only Brasas and Cristi are missing.

Let's be clear, I'm supportive because ZFR has said all the right things so far. And by choosing Scene as a chancellor, he has done all the right things when given a chance thus far. As such, among the unknowns I rank him at the top. He certainly could turn when given the opportunity, but the same can be said of anyone else who hasn't been tested.

Now, if the question is if we can have only one, I know I'm a better bet. But the rest of you cannot be sure.

@Dedo - I've read your past few posts. I get you have a bad feeling about ZFR. What is your plan between now and Greek's presidency? You seem to have an issue with the entire Cristi/Brasas/Blot bloc. How do you suggest we go through it?
avatar
RWarehall: Let's be clear, I'm supportive because ZFR has said all the right things so far.
I'm aware of this and that was the main reason why he was among my original list of people with good overall PR. My problem isn't with ZFR specifically but with his government as a combination (my gut tells me that one of Scene and ZFR is a phoney). Things only are weighted more towards ZFR because of you. That said, I'd go with Scene as my own Chancellor (I believe I next in line) which should give me a lot better perspective on the matters.

I would like to start seeing Cristi and Blotunga participate more because that's the main issue I have with them. I'd (and I guess others) am more likely to avoid them just because there is no information to work with. This isn't even alignment related, it's more of a precaution. So, I hope Cristi comes along sooner rather than later and Blotunga kicks it up a notch. Then my standing my be revised.

I believe we have 2 votes to finish (this one included) before we reach Brasas at which point I hope more data will be available to work with. I'm on the fence with him at the moment so it can go either way depending on what and how it happens by then.

I'll wait for Cristi in the hope she will contribute reads. There's very little to go on, but maybe she will have some insight on the dedo/RW/ZFR triangle that I am struggling to sort.

That said it's only fair to warn you all that until thursday I will be much less available than past week due to travel. For sure I'll have wifi and connect, just more awkward hours.

dedoporno: I believe we have 2 votes to finish (this one included) before we reach Brasas ...
Not sure how you're counting this...
avatar
dedoporno: Especially the fact that RW is so supportive of ZFR.
I find this VERY suspicious. I rated RW highly because of his statistical input but since then he's said 'ZFR has said everything right so far', when in fact:

ZFR said he would oppose himself being chancellor
ZFR said he wouldn't discuss who he's investigate in the event of a fascist card being drawn before it was in fact drawn

Both of these behaviours are highly suspicious. Yet RW, who we are told by other players who've played with him is highly intelligent, sees nothing wrong in those behaviours and actually sees ZFR as the most likely Liberal. Something does not ring true and in fact it smells very very fishy.

And RW is voting for a ZFR government too.

Is RW fascist?

Obviously, as a person who can't follow a simple consecutive pattern. I got your and RW's seats mixed up. This means there is even more steps until you presidency is reached meaning more to work it when the time comes. In an ideal scenario we might even have won by then.
