I would like to introduce my small free GUI tool to create/modify gamepad mappings for drm-free games that based on SDL2 (most of modern indie games and some AAA). It was created to be an alternative to Steam BigPicture gamepad configurator. Basically there are two use cases:
- A game detected your gamepad, but has no option to rebind buttons.
- A game doesn't detect your gamepad.
With SDL2 Gamepad Tool you can create/modify gamepad mapping and force a game to use it. There are two ways to do it: by setting special environmental variable, so all SDL2 games will pick up your mapping automatically or by locating mappings database file and adding mapping string for your gamepad.

I would really appreciate if you check it out and provide me some feedback. Thank you!

Hmm, when I get my hands on a new gamepad, there are a few games I'd like to try this out on. Unfortunately, my last (er, dozen) gamepads met with a difficult game and ended up getting pulverized. =\
