chadjenofsky: Oh, so they're going to continue on? ...
It's undecided. BBC probably intends to keep it rolling but if they don't sign on James and Richard (and the Stig, of course), then they might as well create a whole new show.

chadjenofsky: Oh, so they're going to continue on? Sounds a bit like Charlie Sheen's departure on 2.5 men.
That show crashed and burned once he was booted right?
Read above, looks like James May is gone as well. I don't blame him. The show won't be the same without Jeremy, like him or not, he did give the show a lot of life.
Am I the only one who couldn't care less if they cancelled the stupid show and that arsehole gets exactly what he deserves?

I'll be pleased if the BBC have done the right thing and sacked him instead of letting him off because the show is successful.

I'm sure it won't be the end of his career anyway (more's the pity, I hope the pour guy he punched at least presses charges) and he'll pop up somewhere else before long.

Ratings held on a bit with Ashton Kutcher fanboys but it wasn't the same as with Charlie.
I think Clarkson owns the rights to topgear... so when the BBC's contract to make the current topgear expires BBC will lose topgear completely.
It's sad but to be honest Clarkson owed it to himself as success got to him and the last few years he could only be funny at the cost of others which apparently is called political incorrect these days, 15 years ago it would have been just plain rude and that's not even touching all the racism he's been doing.

Nope, his production company used to own 50%, but sold it back to the BBC in 2012.

lol! I didn't really care much for it. It seemed to be always broadcasting when I flipped on BBC America--either that or Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. Though, I did enjoy the humor--erm, "humour"
It's rumoured Chris Evans will take over.....omg :(

Not sure about that. He's been tweeting that he's unemployed for the last week. I'm pretty sure he'll be back.
Sorry guys, but Clarkson assaulted someone. To the point the guy was admitted to A&E. There cannot be any choice here for the BBC. It amazes me that he was not summarily dismissed now that we know what happened.

I mean - it's reported (not verified) that he was attacking that guy for 30 seconds! That's a hell of a long time to be hitting someone.

Like Top Gear or not, the BBC are employers and have to act on behaviour like this, even if he wasn't on his last warning.

"Never going to happen"
Any news from Clarkson himself? Did he even say he's sorry for that?
Wow! I didn't see that coming. He seemed such an easy-going person.
