What a great looking video game this is!
Rpg, action and comedy you can ask for more!
To the wish list for the moment...
It looks like a wonderful game but... a hip-hop soundtrack??
That doesn't convince me at all...

I must admit that, even if not exactly my taste, this kind of folk hip-hop sounds better than I expected... And the rest of the game elements look good to me so to the wishlist goes Yaga, then.
Was following this game for a while because I like both the visuals and the (obviously Romanian) soundtrack. But I really dislike how "choppy" the movement is in this game.
Wishing a lot of fun to those who give it a go, of course. People who like Bastion will probably like this as well. :)

Ne budi previše kritičan ;)

The best thing about this game is, that it works on a potato PC too.
I like Bastion, so I will definitely buy this game :D

Thanks GOG and publisher/developer.

It's more like traditional folk from these parts mixed with some guitars and bass. Not exactly what I'd associate with hip-hop, but I guess it gets quite trap-ish at times. That high pitch instrument you're hearing is a pan flute, typically used in folk around here.

I'm glad some of the local folk bands are getting exposure this way, at least. We also have a lot of good folk-rock/metal bands (example) hardly anyone knows about internationally.

Why does the chopped off hand change from picture to picture? In one it's the right hand that's gone, in the other it's the left one. Please don't tell me they just flipped the entire sprite for movement in the opposite direction.... yep that's what they did. I am offended that in 2021 some devs still try to sell me such a cheap way of animating sprites.

Hello Acriz, I'm actually the animator for Yaga :).

The decision to flip the character for the side views was made because of a bunch of different reasons, but mostly because it is economic. We're a small indie development team and we had to cut corners in a couple of places. The main character has around 80-90 animations that had to be done in side-view, facing up and facing down, and this already implied a lot of drawing and animating. We also avoided some complications on the programming side, but I'm not going to get into that.

A surprising number of people (nothing major, but definitely more than I expected) complained about this. I've seen it done a lot in games I love and it never bothered me, but I understand why it irks some people. I also think it's made more obvious by the fact that our character is asymmetrical, which is something we overlooked.

What I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry if you think this was done because we were cheap or anything like that. Trust me, I would have loved to have animations for both sides, but it just wasn't feasible. I would definitely do it differently if I had the chance.

Thanks for checking the game out anyway, and input is always useful, if not for Yaga then at least for future projects.

Now, does it have control rebinding?

You can rebind controls for mouse and keyboard. You can't rebind buttons on controllers yet but we might add it if it's a feature that many people ask for.

Oh hey there!
I totally understand why it is more economical to minimize the amount of sprites you have to draw. But contrary to you, I already didn't like this in the SNES and GBA days whenever I saw it. Something just irked me when seeing very prominent features like the sword just swap sides. My mind just disagrees with that.
Otherwise the art looks pretty fun and it's always nice to see something about eastern european folklore.

Yeah, I totally understand, don't worry, I have my own set of "pet peeves" :).

I'm hoping to see more games based on Eastern European folklore too. We've read a ton on the subject and there so many interesting, creepy, funny and ridiculous things! And there are many variations of the same legends in different countries, sometimes it's really hard to pick. We have a huge list of things that we would've liked to add in the game, but didn't have the budget. Maybe some day...
