Revolutionary tactics.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg, an effortlessly simple and unbelievably tactical simulator, is available now for Windows (with Mac OS X and Linux versions coming soon), DRM-free on GOG.com with a 33% launch discount.

Ultimate General: Gettysburg is what you'd get if you took deep, complex, intelligent AI and systems - and wrapped them in a simple, user-friendly package. It's the perfect balance between historical authenticity and open-ended tactics, it's accessible but infinitely capable. There are no AI difficulty cheats here, each opponent is modeled to work within a certain set of rules and every advantage it can ever get - you can too. The same brilliant AI design allows you to focus on the grand tactical scheme of things without having to babysit and micromanage your units. Ultimate General: Gettysburg is a Civil War enthusiast's dream, with a detailed, historically accurate map of Gettysburg that's yours to utilise (and learn about). It's also a game that isn't held back by an unrelenting drive to become a bloated battle simulator.

Participate in the ultimate Civil War reenactment in Ultimate General: Gettysburg, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, June 4, at 9:59 AM GMT.
Hmm, at least my wallet's getting safer - it seems that none of the new (not classics) games released to gog these days are compatible with Windows older than Win7. So no purchases for me.

This one is compatible.
Great game! I'm surprised to find it here. Now if you also bring Sid Meier's Gettysburg, I'll die as a happy soldier! ;)
Great release! To be honest, i didn't expected to see this game pop right here. I send a mail to Game Labs a long time ago asking if there were plans for a DRM-Free version, but no answer was received. Anyway, nice to see that Nick continues to do what he does best, after all the care he provided at the Total War games.

Celton88: I'm excited for this one. Truthfully, I was hoping for Sierra's Gettysburg game, but this looks good too!
i have it on steam & its a good little war game. Nice its here as well.

Matruchus: Finally the game from famous Darth the modder for Total War games.

vicklemos: For real? A modder conveived the whole deal?
Yeah, he made the company after he was rudely handled by Sega and Creative Assembly since he actually fixed their games with his modds and made a functional AI. AI is also basically what makes Ultimate Generals unique since its highly adaptive and presents a real challenge.

Niggles: Interesting. So this is likely to have a pretty challenging AI then?.
Yes, you have a big amount of AIs to choose from depending on how challenging the game you wan't to play.

Here the AI map for the game: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/images/14/oct/ugg18.png

Nice info. Thanks!
These are enigmatic "real life situations" - I guess you can call 'em that way- which I'm so fond of.
Makes me wanna buy the damn thing even more, just to say "in your face!" :P

Hmm, I heard this is very good game.
I will definitely keep an eye on it.
Looks cool. Anyone play take command or scourge of war? If so how does this game compare?
Oh, and by the way: It starts and works perfectly fine on my Vista 64 (even the performance is great on my 2009-system).
Another mandatory purchase for me here. If I can make a parallel, it seems like the RTS equivalent of Banished. Not in terms of content, but in terms of loving creation and fresh ingenuity.

That's good to know, was playing on my Window 10 laptop and didn't realize Vista wasn't listed which my main computer runs. xD

Game runs good on my crappy laptop which has barley anything good in it. :D
Shame that I already own this on Steam, it's a great game and addition to GOG's catalogue and I would very much have preferred buying it here in the first place.
Glad I held off from buying this on Steam now, thanks GOG! :)
Jesus Christ!!! Are you kidding me?? First, Telltale, now this?? WOW, just WOW!!!
