A warmly received series of fantasy titles from Cyanide Spiders arrives on GOG.COM with juicy discounts. Join Orcs and Goblins in their desperate struggle against the Empire of Humankind in three unique games:

Of Orcs and Men (-80%) is an action fantasy RPG in which you follow the Orc warrior Arkail and his Goblin companion Styx on their quest to assassinate the human Emperor.

Styx: Master of Shadows (-80%) is a stealth game and a prequel to Of Orcs and Men. As the Goblin Styx you must infiltrate the mysterious Tower of Akenash.

Styx: Shards of Darkness (-60%) tells the further story of the ruthless Goblin. Our hero can sneak past enemies, set traps and clone himself in order to confuse his foes.

Discounts on all three games - Of Orcs and Men (-80%), Styx: Master of Shadows (-80%), and Styx: Shards of Darkness (-60%) – will last on GOG.COM until 31th January, 2 PM UTC.
I think the newest games will not run on a Phenom II X4 955 / HD7850 hardware . :(
Never heard of these games, but because I love stealth games, and these seem to be well-regarded, I purchased them "blind". Since the first one isn't stealth, but is only $3, I got it as well.

Now let's see what they're all about.. :)

The Styx games are quite good. Hope you enjoy them!
Of Orcs and Men was okay for the different story, but it's pretty rough. I remember it being quite easy except for the difficulty spikes where the game uses scripted unavoidable ambushes that always ended with me using Styx to run laps around the area kiting all the enemies after him, followed by Arkail running behind and hitting them. It looked like something out of a comedy movie.

I played Master of Shadows and did not like it in the end at all. Just some things that no one is telling you: it's one of those games in two halves- the first half is good, the second half is the first half played backwards. The same maps, just backwards and with increasingly more annoying enemies. If you hated the undead in Thief, then you will hate the final chapters of this game too. The game became just trial and error save scumming. It becomes more puzzle like, rather than "on the fly" stealth. It soured the entire game for me. But if that floats your boat, then the world and story are pretty unique.

I haven't played the most recent game yet, I don't judge games I haven't played.

GOG.com: from Cyanide Spiders arrives

SirPrimalform: Did Cyanide Studio merge with Spiders?
Regarding Wiki both belong to Big Ben Interactive. Spiders was part from Focus, which is a competitor of...Big Ben.
There is a discussion ongoing in german forums for Nacon is specified as the publisher...so i looked it up on several web sources because i was curious. Thats why i can partially answer your question. Nothing that belongs to my common knowledge. ;-) If someone is interested as well and can provide more informations...just shoot it over. :-)
edit: done, thanks!

this probably won't be seen because it's the weekend, but these wishes can be completed:

A shame the co-op is not included, but I don't quite care about it anyway.

Styx (have not played Shards of Darkness yet) is the closest to the original Thief series that a game has gotten in quite awhile (not a fan of Dishonored) despite being third person. It really is a must have.

I did not notice the price for Shards of Darkness, but this is low enough that it can't be passed up.

Spiders and Cyanide both worked on the game Of Orcs and Men for Focus Home Interactive.

Cyanide would continue work on two Styx stealth games for Focus Home Interactive prior to the studio being purchased by BigBen.

Meanwhile, Spiders published Mars War Logs, Technomancer, and Greedfall for Focus Home Interactive prior to also being purchased by BigBen.

At least that's my understanding.
Is Japanese not included in Shards of Darkness?
Very interesting game, and very aggressive sale price, gonna give this a try.

Mm.. that's bad. Reversed levels are often a cheap tactic to increase game length.

I liked the undeads in Thief1, instead. The variation of the formula with some horror elements and tomb-raiding was interesting. :P

That is true. The second half of Master of Shadows is mostly the same levels just with different entry/exit points and enemy types/placements.

About annoying enemies, I don't think there are any that are that bad. Just the heavy armored guys cannot be taken on directly and always one shot you. But there are ways to deal with them too and you should never be fighting enemies directly anyway. Dwarfs can also smell you but the game never feels unfair.

Btw, some reviews report that Shards of Darkness has the same problem (-_-)'

And it seems that Master of Shadows is better balanced, has less bugs and a better conclusion.
Maybe I'll choose this among the three.

Good addition to GOG - instabuy! All three of them.
