wormholewizards: My biggest fear of Soul-like game is it tend to be repetitive and boring
If you plan on only playing through it once, then there is nothing to fear. It is usually the subsequent NG+ playthroughs which will start to bring on the repetitiveness and grinding.
Bummer, bought the special edition just to support gog but the game will not start. Windows7sp1, 64bit offline PC.
I've read on steam forums that the issue is Vulkan and that there is no dx11 nor openGL option.

Surge1 runs at 120 fps so I don't understand the need for vulkan in Surge2 especially if it's not tested with older hardware.

Yeay! :D

MarkoH01: If it is anything like the first one it is a bit like the Dark Souls games. You will die a lot, you cannot save, you have to fight really carefully because on death you will respawn at your "base" and you will .

Crosmando: Never really understood the appeal of "souls-like" games.

MarkoH01: I had problems with these at the beginning as well. After a while I realized that even though it is hard and you will have to repeat several fights to get better you also are getting practice and if it happens that you should die before getting another shortcut there's not much to worry about except for some lost scrap you can recollect again if you are fast enough. It's just unusual for me (being not a good gamer) that progress is really slow ... but it is also a good feeling when you finally make progress ..

A lot harder to cheese it too
Eh... yeay...?

*boots it off the wishlist when nobody watches*

MarkoH01: It is not. I have experienced the exact same issue in different games in the past. You guys should contact support., they were able to help me then and I am sure they will be able to help now as well :)

Btw: Imo achievements without popups are kind of pointless. IF you want achievements you also want popups as an option.

Hustlefan: Thanks for your suggestion. I've contacted support now. Hopefully they'll take care of this issue.
This is one of those "invisible" achievements cases. The GOG staff should be able to solve the problem in a short time as soon as they see the ticket. :)
@GOG & FHI: Here, I'll make it easy and do the math for you...

--- For those who own The Surge on GOG ---

The Surge 2 + Season Pass:
$24.99 + $19.99 = $44.98

The Surge 2 - Premium Edition:
$64.99

Disparity:
$64.99 - $44.98 = $20.01

Discount needed for Premium Edition:
$20.01 / $64.99 = 0.3079 (rounded) = 30.79%

--- For those who do not own The Surge on GOG ---

The Surge 2 + Season Pass:
$27.49 + $19.99 = $47.48

The Surge 2 - Premium Edition:
$64.99

Disparity:
$64.99 - $47.48 = $17.51

Discount needed for Premium Edition:
$17.51 / $64.99 = 0.2694 (rounded) = 26.94%

--- TL;DR ---

Discounts for Premium Edition should be about 31% off for those that own The Surge on GOG or 27% off for those that don't.

Aye, but no matter the decision you'll need to buy the URBN Gear Pack as no combination of Premium or Season Pass give that. So add $2.99 to every option :)

Bigs: Buying is a PITA

The cheapest way to ensure you get all content - until GOG Fix the premium ed - which I'm sure they'll do after I've bought it the way described below.... ><

Standard edition @ 45/50% discount
Season Pass
URBAN DLC (not included in the season pass for some reason)
Just wanted to say thanks about this.

Just yesterday I've purchased the game, but didn't even know about the URBAN dlc, siince not only it was part of the season pass, but on the game's store page it is NOT shown on the DLC list: the only way to find it was to use the search feature.

I don't know if this is an issue for the surge 2 only, beucase if not, then I'm pretty sure to have missed other dlc for other games as well.

Hope GOG improve the way DLC are shown, it's too much of a headache right now.
URBN Gear Pack is sold separately from the premium edition because it was the preorder bonus.

Since the preorder bonuses for some games never become available to those who missed the preorder, the situation for this game (and other FHI games) is actually good in comparison - at least we have the choice to pay a bit more to get the content if we value it.

What? It means that even the premium is not the real complete version?
avatar
wolfsite: So cheaper to get the Basic edition and season's pass separately rather than getting the premium edition.
avatar
idbeholdME: Yup, we have to put our own Premium Edition together with some super glue.

EDIT:
The Premium Edition is currently about 28.5% more expensive than if you buy the base game, Season Pass and URBN Gear Pack separately.

For me it is $55.94 separately vs $71.99 for Premium.
Thanks for this bit of info, this is definitely the way to go! I'll have to wait until both the surge 1-2 are discounted for me to get both!

Ah so it was the pre-order one. Super happy about this choice, they did so for the first game as well.

I'm more than glad to pay money for a *was* pre-order dlc, than no chance to have it at all.

Do your research before buying this game. It is a broken piece of mess. This game should've never allowed to come to GoG in this state. Do your research means Go to steam forums and look at the massive amounts of crashes based on the [FLR] Error. VUlkan API is borked in this game. You will constantly crash to desktop evey 5 minutes. Sometimes the game won't even load when you click your save file, it will just error message out. Please do not buy this game unless you want to have an headache. Wait until its in better shape atleast. I'm seriously contemplating a refund next week if something isn't done about this. I made a post about this here: https://www.gog.com/forum/the_surge/flr_error_crash_to_desktop

I've had the "device lost" error exactly once. 2 or 3 more CTD's without device lost message. In 29h playtime. Guess I'm lucky with hardware, but for me the game works almost fine.
Ryzen 5 2600
32GB of 3200 RAM
20GB Cache
Spinning Rust for game drive
RTX 2070

Just bought the Surge 2 and all 8 DLC's will install and report... I create content on Vulkan and have ported a few engines to Vulkan and D12 so i'll see whats up and if i can find an issue thats not user driver or hardware related and its an engine issue I'll reach out or make a patch for us. No promises I'll find anything but if i do I'll touchbase with Focus Home.

edit: 441.87 drivers and latest bios running Win 10 x64 1909 every option maxed out. I ran 1 hour no issues carried a solid 144FPS at 1440. Vulkan ran perfectly no issues at all. -- Bonus: because of how the game does the UI VorpX did work decently well, i need to work on a good config and I'll upload it to the servers.

edit2: 5 hours in, no crash working well... made it though 2 bosses. Most fun Ive had in a very long time. Such a fantastic game!
