The Masterplan, a 2D top-down tactical heist simulator, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux -- DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% launch discount.

Sounds like a plan, a Masterplan. Can you orchestrate the biggest heist in history? It's the 70's, and you're the mastermind behind a band of misfits who just want to get rich - it doesn't have to be quick or easy, but it does have to be spectacular. The Masterplan is a top-down 2D tactical game in which you'll plan and execute the most dangerous and profitable heists. Whether you're going in loud or slipping by unnoticed, you'll be in charge of assembling the ideal team for the job, picking the perfect gear, and forming the ideal plan. When things get heavy, it's up to you to keep your team in-line and efficient - hide bodies, use disguises, hack electrical systems, take hostages, and do what it takes to get out alive and a whole lot richer. Most importantly though, keep it stylish.

Heat,The Italian Job, The Killing, The Masterplan. Join the greats, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 25% launch discount will last until June 21st, 11:59 AM GMT.
Looks interesting, but I think it's more tactical with RPG elements than anything else (action/mash).

Any first impressions?

Edit: Oh, ok, I can see there are couple of reviews on steam, LP on YouTube, it even had early access.

A question to anyone, who has played this game already (Steam EA?):

The description says something of "slo-mo" - so I take it, there's no 'real' planning phase?

It's all done in real-time, which can be slowed down to...well, to what exactly (complete stillstand)?

The aforementioned "They stole a million" let you plan your heist completely before(!) you executed it.

You could then (re-)act to flaws in your planning, resp. took actively part in the heist (waiting, until a member of your gang cracked a safe open, so you could loot it, etc.).

I loved that...I'm not so sure about a "real-time-with-slo-mo-function-heist-planning-game".

Would be nice, if someone could tell me more about it - my mouse-pointer hovers over the "buy"-button, but I am very hesitant to actually click it.

One of the Devs here!

Basically the game slows down to an almost complete stand still, but you can still see, for example, bullets slowly flying around. You can give orders in this mode as well and that's what you usually have to do when things heat up! We actually initially had a separate planning phase in very early phases of development :)

Here's some let's play material if you wan't to see the game in action:

You can also listen to a couple of tracks from the soundtrack here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnweK36xz2s&list=PLHVUIGUZ1rjehIAgueYX3yuOS5TyCmju-

Happy to answer if you have more questions!

Hey - thank you for your answer...will look into your links.

Game looks really nice - maybe you should re-implement the planning phase for geezers like me ;)

...
Will probably not buy it directly (wallet getting empty) but it's nice to see devs answering to community feedback in other places than Steam, thanks for that.

Is it similar to Monaco?

Compared to Monaco's fast paced action, The Masterplan is much more slower paced and offers a more tactical approach to being a crook and causing havoc.

I think I accidentally gave some money to the Monaco guys that was really meant for you. :(
My first impression was "Looks like Hotline Miami.... with good graphics." :D
Looks interesting, but the price is a little steep for me. Wishlisted until a promo.

There's a livestream going on now on Indie MEGABOOTH Twitch channel. http://www.twitch.tv/indiemegabooth
Bought it. Not sure when I'll try it out - hotel internet is as slow as they come - but those Let's Play videos sold me on the game.
HI!
*wild question here*: was Dreamweb an inspiration?
Art looks amazing!
Thanks!
I would really like to play this.

Wishlisted. Looks like another great addition to Gog.

A lot of the games I played when I was young spill their influence on the Masterplan, so yeah, that and games like "Tapan Kaikki" and "The Clue" work as inspiration one way or another.
