The moment you’ve been waiting for – The Last Faith is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount until November 22nd, 3 PM UTC!

The Last Faith is a metroidvania type of game with a gothic vibe and lots of gore. The gameplay relies on merciless and precise combat, with a huge range of custom executions to perform. It lets you discover a formidable arsenal of melee weapons, arcane spells and long-range firearms, all while carving a path in your own way. Nonlinear exploration and gorgeous pixel art enhance the environment; gothic landscape, snow-dusted mountain, castles bathed in the moonlight.

Now on GOG!
Good timing, just wrapped up Blasphemous II the other day.

GOG.com: Release: The Last Faith
These games look all the same to me.

The pixel art.
The oversized sword that gets dragged behind.
The screenshot with a "cathedral-like" hall.
Nice!
Played the Demo on Steam and loved It!
Insta-bought on GOG ^^
Are the backer bonus items Muramasa Katana, Cursed Nodachi and Warrior From the East Skin going to be released as separate dlc pack at later date or will this be an incomplete game?
I can't recall any crowdfunded title that made their backer-exclusive incentives available to the regular plebs as well, so probably no.
That is some authentic, high quality, 32-bit pixel art direction, something very few devs actually have the skill to pull off. Those animations are fantastic. Wishlist for now, but I'll definitely be getting this eventually.
So, how does the game handle saving and death?
(In particular, what happens in the case where the player plays for a while without saving (perhaps intentionally), dies, then quits the game and restarts?)

Agreed. And of course it's all super dhark and edgy and full of pain. I feel like these games are made by the goth kids from South Park.

I feel so tired: how many games do we have like this in the gog catalog ?
We have far too many crappy 'pixel art' games, but I can think of only a handful that actually demonstrate serious skill and understanding of the 32bit era high colour, low res aesthetics and/or limitations.

This, Blasphemous 1 & 2, BattleAxe, Souldiers, Tiny Thor, Owlboy, Super Catboy, and Gestalt: Steam & Cinder are the only ones I can think off the top of my head that, without widescreen and some resolution tweaks, could pass for quality PS1/Saturn/32-bit-Arcade era games.

Played the demo and enjoyed it. The game felt like a decent 2D-Bloodborne to me, with heavily inspired Blasphemous bits and pieces art- and mechanics-wise. That sort of mingling-worlds fever dream. A whole lot of a borrowed identity in that sense, but fun.

Thanks for your suggestions, there are some I wasn't aware of. Gestalt: Steam & Cinder looks beautiful, although the stated 4 MB RAM as a requirement can't be right.

No probs, and yeah Gestalt is looking gorgeous, I am really looking forward to it. It's been "coming soon" for more than a year though, I wish GOG would stop using the word soon so loosely.
