op2017si: So Morrowind is than better than Oblivion? Never played any of these.
I've never played Oblivion, but I did have a very fun and satisfying run of Morrowind going not too many months ago and was stymied by a mod-created game-breaking bug, alas. Didn't have the heart to start over at the time. But will eventually get back to it. With the big, long games I've got in my backlog (today's additions included), it's going to be well into retirement before I get to Morrowind again, I'm thinking.

The general consensus is that Morrowind is better than un-modded Oblivion (and I agree). Morrowind is like a hand-crafted jewel, while Oblivion came off a production line, much of its content being reused, auto-generated, auto-leveled etc.

While Oblivion is a flawed gem, the modding community has really fixed & polished it to perfection in all the years that have passed since its release.

huan: Not instabought because reasons, it will have to wait until I get home and kick someone's butt (mine, for being cautious and having low limit on my card).
Looks like I was trying to buy at full price for whatever reason (and didn't even notice, or mind). Now with -50% correctly applied, they are already sitting in my account even without messing with card limits.

huan: Can we crowd out the naysayers from at least the first page? Would have been easier with just one release thread instead of three.
Four pages and counting (not including two posts about gog connect which are bordeline). This has to be some record.

paladin181: Galsiah's Character Development (or GCD) is a great mod for Morrowind. nGCD (not Galsiah's Character Development) is an exceptional and similar mod for Oblivion. I swear by those, as well as the alternate start mods.
Yes, thanks for reminding me, those are the ones I settled on, I just couldn't remember the name without my gaming comp. So, another thumbs up from me. Unfortunately GCD for Morrowind is hard to find, or was when Morrowind released here, maybe now the situation is better. But 100% worth the trouble.

adamhm: Give me an hour or so, had to wait for it to download
I really was only kidding :P. I was able to get it running in Wine in the past, so I don't anticipate much of an issue with the GOG build.

fortune_p_dawg: oh my god ive been immortalized on the internet!

OBLIVION!!111
May your evening be filled with Oblivion and your computer room surrounded by the noxious gas of 2 pounds of brussels sprouts, your floor littered with bottles of Old Raspy...

...if you're married don't forget to rent your wife a hotel room for the weekend.

I know, that was clear from the post, just thought I'd mention it :p I've had it running perfectly in Wine for a long time too so I'm expecting it won't take long to throw together a wrapper for the GOG version.

Pond86: I'm looking at Morrowind. Compared to Oblivion how is it?
Like i said i haven't played it much morrowind,i enjoyed oblivion very much though and i can't say that i reached that part of enjoyment in morrowind yet but one thing i can say it's cheaper now than when i bought it on 24th december i paid 6.99 euros now it's cheaper.
Been waiting for this. Much thanks to gog and Bethesda.

Unbathed, brussel sprout fart Oblivion fueled gaming marathons were THE most common reason cited for divorce cause shortly after the Xbox release. I know, I play a lawyer on the internet ;)

Thank you both for these informations! :)

Would this work with an Intel HD530 integrated graphic?

I've noticed Fallout 3 includes GECK but Oblivion doesn't include the Construction Set?

Didn't have enough to purchase New Vegas, so I don't know if it includes GECK.
I f***ing YELLED AND SCREAMED as I saw this, and immediately bought all 3 games (F3, F:NV and TES:O)
THANKS GOG!

Indeed it doesn't. An oversight on my part.
Not an instabuy for me, but I'm really really glad to see these releases.

As many others, I keep waiting for Doom 3, which will most definitely be an instabuy.
