Get ready for an escape-room horror game with beautiful hand-drawn art – Succubus Prison from Kagura Games is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount that lasts until July 22nd, 4 AM UTC.

You stand outside a house on the edge of town, dragged there by a couple of guys you can't say no to without getting your kneecaps busted, and told that you were helping them to rob it. It's only three sisters who live there, they said. It's an easy score, they said.

You sneak inside and start searching the rooms, as instructed. It's dark, and even though you don't see anything worth taking, things are going smoothly so far. Then the screaming starts.

Hide from what's hunting you and use anything in the house to further your escape. Every action you take will affect how your story evolves. Do your best to survive.

Succubus Prison OUT NOW!
More trash for the heap. Doesn't the internet have enough porn on it?

mistycoven: That doesn't mean that these games are good, per se, but it's about all you can expect given how niche the market is and how little money they tend to make.
This isn't exactly a niche market, just that Kagura is a publisher of absolute, unmitigated tripe. Doujin-soft have been a thing in Japan before indie was even a term; dating back to their microcomputer platforms.

That's the one thing that fascinates me - why would anyone spend money on this? Isn't the Internet full of anime tiddies? Most likely both free and better drawn?

The size of the market isn't the problem though, the profitability is.

DL Site carries literally tens of thousands of these games. The best selling paid game (not manga or illustrations but a game) has sold less than 150,000 copies. The 1000th most sold game has sold less than 10,000 copies.

Put another way, if you manage to break 10,000 sales, you are in the 99th percentile of all porn games sold on DL-Site.
At the 50th percentile, you are selling fewer than 500 copies.
At the 10th percentile, fewer than 50 copies.

There may be some porn games who turn a decent profit, similar to how games like Undertale and Stardew Valley prove indie games can be profitable, but they are the exception, not the rule.

There are entire imageboard archives dedicated to archiving anime tiddy; with one even having an especially strict restriction on what is even allowed in.

foad01: This time it is even easier to ignore it. It is just a small tile at the bottom of the front page...
You mean biggest tile in the news section.
Nevermind.

foad01: And this is the reason why you can't ignore it. LOL......
Of course I can. I can also ignore GOG altogether. And you could ignore the people in this thread. I'm just saying, trying to present the opening piece of the news section (the idiotic placement of the news section notwithstanding) as something particularly easy to ignore is rather disingenuous.

Yup, and you're not forced to play a shit game with bad mechanics to see em. What is the point of porn games anyway.

bikkurin: Disgusting.....
where?
First part rhymes with Man; word for a high ranked player in Go, Shogi, or Martial arts.

Second part Booru; as in corrugated cardboard. I'll leave you to puzzle the rest out.

foad01: Disingenuous?

You can't ignore "Release: Succubus Prison from Kagura Games" and an art style which you don't like. You have to click on it and then tell everyone how you dislike this and other games from the same developer?
I literally just said that yes, I can ignore anything. As can you. Which is why these kind of arguments are not particularly useful to any conversation. But that is entirely besides the point I was making, which is not arguing against the idea of ignoring something, but marely stating that your claim that the game being displayed as the first in the news section somehow makes it easier to ignore makes no sense.

foad01: These threads are always the same. In nearly all of these threads you can see people posting there who don't like these games. This is pointless. People who might enjoy these games are silent because these threads are constantly derailed.
The only one derailing the thread is you. Being negative about the release is not derailing the thread about the release.
