Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic, a BioWare-developed open-ended RPG classic set in a galaxy far, far away, is available 20% off on GOG.com. That's only $9.99 for the first week!

Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic takes us back four thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, as the Republic verges on collapse. Darth Malak, last surviving apprentice of the Dark Lord Revan, has unleashed an invincible Sith armada upon an unsuspecting galaxy. Crushing all resistance, Malak’s war of conquest has left the Jedi Order scattered and vulnerable as countless Knights fall in battle, and many more swear allegiance to the new Sith Master. In the skies above the Outer Rim world of Taris, a Jedi battle fleet engages the forces of Darth Malak in a desperate effort to halt the Sith's galactic domination. Hundreds of Jedi Knights have already fallen in battle against the ruthless Sith. You are the last hope of the Jedi Order. Can you master the awesome power of the Force™ on your quest to save the Republic? Or will you fall to the lure of the dark side? Hero or villain, savior or conqueror... you alone will determine the destiny of the entire galaxy!

From the amazing story, through great mechanics, down to the awesome musical score composed by Jeremy Soule, Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic delivers upon the promise of creating a gateway into the universe imagined by George Lucas! Get it DRM-Free, for only $9.99 on GOG.com!

Now, for a special surprise! We're kicking off streams hosted by GOG.com community members. Many of you might know JackAttackNZ from around our forums. You can see him play Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic, archived from the Twitch.tv/GOGcom stream, right here.

tfishell: Shame you could negotiate for the same price as on Steam (unless it's regionally priced there?), but great to see the game here!

Reever: Well, for me, it's €9.99 on both platforms, so no price difference for Germans, at least.
'Tis higher for me in the UK:

Steam - £6.99 (equates to $9.99 as charged by Steam)
GOG - £7.79 regular, £6.19 sale (equates to $12.49 and $9.99 as charged by GOG)

Hah! Sinistar, get ready to play! :P
If anyone gets this and has trouble with getting a widescreen resolution working, I highly reccommend Flawless Widescreen:
http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/
(also works for a bunch of other games)
The discount doesn't seem to work for me for both KOTOR and Monkey Island. It shows 9.99$ or 7.99 Euro on the frontpage or gamecard, but when I put it in my cart it's the full price of 12.49$ or 9.99 Euro. Stays that way on the checkout screen...

edit: seems to be fixed now, thanks!

And no mention of the regular price or sale in the release article. They just write it like $9.99 is the regular price, when it's not...

Edit: Pay no attention to the blind fool...

Your prices and currency conversion are off: £6.99 (Steam) is $11.30, and £6.19 (GOG) is $10.01.

Already have this on CD, but bought it again. Brilliant game, you could see where a lot of the basis for Mass Effect came from.

Will this game be released for OS X as well?
Strange: Steam has a Mac version of KOTOR, but not GOG? Licensing issue?

It is, and apparently we're getting approximately the EU price point on GOG.

Dang it, I'm blind. I was looking at the bottom of the article...
Can anyone confirm if this release improves upon the issues that exist on the Steam version? What kind of compatibility upgrades, if any, has GOG introduced?
I'm very happy to see this. I own on CD, but will be buying the DRM-free single installer from here very soon.

Nice job on the agreement and hope to see KOTOR 2 along with Grim Fandango and other titles very soon. WOOT!

Yeah, Aspyr owns the rights for their OSX port, so I wouldn't count on this arriving for a while.
