An iconic classic, fully remastered by the team at Nightdive Studios, through its proprietary KEX engine, allowing the game to run on modern gaming devices at up to 4K resolution at 120FPS.

STAR WARS™: Dark Forces Remaster is now out on GOG!

Expect all fourteen original levels, featuring Star Wars™ worlds and capital ships, engaging first-person ground combat featuring ten weapons and twenty types of enemies, Personal Digital Assistant (providing you with in game information such including map, inventory, and mission briefing), modern gamepad support, controller support, advanced 3D rendering, up to 4K 120FPS visuals, and much more!

The original 1995 STAR WARS™: Dark Forces raised the bar for FPS games, offering players a significant degree of movement and interactivity, a large selection of items and power-ups, and engaging environments.
In that iconic title you assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a defector of the Galactic Empire turned mercenary for hire. Katarn joins the Rebel Alliance’s covert operations division tasked with infiltrating the Galactic Empire, where he discovers the secret Dark Trooper Project. The development of this powerful new series of Imperial battle droids and power-armored stormtroopers stands to strengthen the Empire’s grip on the galaxy unless Katarn and the Rebel Alliance intervene.

With STAR WARS™: Dark Forces Remaster, every new and returning player will be able to enjoy all of that with upgraded gameplay, high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting and rendering, and support for gamepads.

That’s not all, though! For those who already own the classic STAR WARS™: Dark Forces – you get a -10% launch discount on the Remaster, until April 29th, 2 PM UTC!

Make sure to check it out – with Nightdive Studios behind the wheel, we couldn’t be more excited!
The price is ridiculous. They have no excuse to make it that much, when we have remasters like Tomb raider collection and C&C collection remaster. One was 30 with three games and the other has two for 20.

Finally. Now generations of gamers, who weren't gamers or even born when this came out in 1995, will learn what full auto blaster fire means for accuracy. It was never Stormtrooper aim to begin with. ^^ Well, maybe it was, but LucasArts made it also a flaw of the Imperial blaster mechanic. Basically it explains that shitty accuracy of Stormtroopers in the entire franchise can also be blamed on the blaster. Enjoy that piece of trivia! =)
I dunno about 30 money :D
high rated
Quintuple the price of the original....

Even triple would be pushing it, but 15-20 bucks is about the limit I'm willing to accept for a re-release. But 30? Wow...
It is curious to see how into the reviews page, people with just one review behind, and not proper owners of the remaster, give the game one single star and the only review written is just complaining about the price.

I agree that it can be expensive for a lot of people but I think that it does not deserves a reason for a proper review; the price of a game does not denote if a remaster is good or bad.
Because a price changes over time.
When a game comes in at a certain pric epoint, it asks the customer to compare it's value to other games that match or go lwoer than it's price point.

For me, I can get aquire 2-3 games that can provide a cimilar or superior nostalgic experience than this one.

But for some, they may find that asking point is what they want.

C'est La Vie.
I think I will wait for an appropriate discount. Like -96% off or roughly 1.15 euro bucks total.
I don't get the complaints about price. Nightdive Studios clearly put a lot of work into this, kudos to them.

Is anyone else having trouble downloading this? I purchased it but cannot download the offline installer from gog.com nor can I install it through the GOG Galaxy app. When I try to download it on gog.com I get a response saying this:

error "invalid_licence"
error_description "User #************* does not have the license for product #1853348102."

I replaced my user number with *, not sure if that should be private.

Edit: I love how as soon as I post this, the download is working

I have the same problem
I don't think I'll spend 30 bucks for a remaster but since it is at least no published by EA I'll put it on the wishlist.
The price is a bit steep, yes. But my question is: Does this game have quicksave/load (or manual) now or not?
Some of the maps are pretty big and I really don't want to replay almost an entire map just because I mad a mistake...

I had the exact problem yesterday with a new released demo I grabbed. Apparently you just need to wait a few minutes ... seems to be a kind of syncing problem. GOG's tech as its best like we know and love it ;)

And again just a Windows build. Nightdive has become lazy and / or involved in too many projects at the same time.
$30 is pretty good for a quality remaster instead of some of the higher priced garbage being put out by AAA studios. Runs smooth as silk and has some nice bonus content.

Thanks Night Dive for preserving and improving on the past. I will easily get my money's worth out of this. Instabuy...

Speaking of EA. I guess we are not getting the Battlefront remasters which actually seem worth 30 bucks.
