Edited to correct my stupidity.

-throws his wallet at the screen- Just take it! All of it! I have 25th Anniversary's floppy edition in the box and it was a dream of mine to get the CD-version.

3? I thought there was only Starfleet and Klingon Academy?

yeah, for glory of the klingon empire
So I take it Chekov's Lost Missions isn't included?
Absolutely incredible. I remember playing this on my Power Mac G4 with my Saitek Cyborg 3D. Good times. From what I've seen on the internet, this could potentially work well in WINE.

My bad, I was thinking of the Starfleet *Command* games... Which are, of course, completely different, but also published by Interplay...

I've played around with the CD version in wine and haven't gotten very far. A fundamental problem seems to be that the game needs to have a 16 bit colour display like it was the standard under Windows 95 or else you'll only get garbled output.

In the end I did install it in a Windows 98 virtualbox instance. That, however, will be a bit tricky to do with the GOG version, since the GOG installer does not run on Windows 98.

But don't despair, I'm sure there is a way to do it if you poke around some more (maybe use wine for the installer, then copy into the Win98 VM?).
Does this support USB Joysticks? My CD Copy doesn't.

Not Starfleet Command 3, that was Activsion.

So, depending on what rights GOG have secured, they may not get SFC3.

Is there any word on if this is the DVD version of the game (which has higher resolution video than the CD version)?

Dang, you're right! Star Trek rights are impossible to keep track of. There were some points in time where 4 different publishers were taking turns at releasing Star Trek games simultaneously. One thing you could never accuse CBS of back then was handing out exclusive licenses...

*Very* good question. Considering the game size, I'd lean towards it being the CD version. Hopefully, we'll get an official comment soon...

Always wanted to play this and never had a chance to, now I'll have to pick it up here and give it a whirl when I next have cash to spend on further games for my backlog, err gaming PC.
