Thanks looking forward to playing and hope it sells well for you
I stopped playing RTS a while ago (SC2 was the last one); TBS is my favourite. However, I've just bought the game, because:
- would like to taste the current generation of RTS (drop TBS for a change)
- made in Germany/Austria
- fantasy theme and art is amazing.
Epically overhyped methinks.

I agree. The good things that made the saga memorable are gone (or butchered) and the bad things are still there plus new ones.
But the art is good and people will still give it 4-5 stars anyway.

it's just a fanboi-wave with all those positive reviews. give it time, the ratings will show what the game is really about...
Can't wait to play it!!!
I researched this game a bit, back in June. Here are my old notes:

Looks like a truly classic RPG experience, build for PC. I get the impression that the game is designed especially for single player, with multiplayer support as a secondary feature. They promise a 30+ hours campaign and lots of lore. The trailer and screenshots aim to sell itself purely on the prettiness of their panorama landscapes, without showing actual gameplay or the HUD. I think this suggests that the game will contain 'walking sim' elements, where a good deal of the appeal is to simply explore the environment. Walking sims are also called explorations games, and a developer has stressed that exploration is central to the game. Worth noting here is that the game also contains some light adventure game elements. These elements are not quests, so there is no handholding here - the player must explore and understand the world on his own.

In the bullet points, they use the word "Epic" three times. However, I don't really like when fantasy games try to be epic. Too me, it's synonymous with boring and pretentious. Let's see. As I understand it, they try to aim for hard fantasy here. That they made a prequel also suggest that they had given some thought to what story they like to tell.

You have sectors you can build within. You assign workers to buildings, not to the resources, to avoid micromanagement. Unassigned workers bring resources around.

I like how they removed that shoulder-cam perspective, aiming for classic RPG almost-isometric view. The player can still zoom with mouse wheel. The outmost zoom level is the same as in Spellforce 2.
A delicious and mouth-watering day it is today, what with two release I've been anticipating (Spellforce 3 & Shadowhand)! The game looks like it twinkles, amidst the glitter it trails out.

Looks good, but the recommended system requirements are a bit extreme. Anyone know what engine it uses?
