A pirate's life for me.

Sid Meier's Pirates!, the swashbuclking adventure/RPG of open-world exploration, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Who doesn't love a good pirate story? Anyone? Ok, that parrot squawk doesn't count so noone it is. But what is it that fascinates us so in these romanticized depictions of piracy? Is it the action? The adventure? The mythical treasures? The laaaadies? Well, Sid Meier's Pirates! has got all that plus another indispensable element of debonair villainy: style.

Crew up your ship and unleash your mischievous charm upon an unsuspecting Caribbean. This vast, colourful playground will soon become the backdrop to your legendary exploits as you sail, trade, plunder, swordfight, and even raid at will. Style yourself as either an agreeable privateer or a ruthless marauder and when you feel ready to settle down, make sure you don't miss the opportunity to woo a governor's comely daughter by showing off your dancing moves. Granted, parrots, hooks, and peg legs make for fine accessories, but nothing looks as good on you as the fair arm of a beautiful maiden.

Get hooked in the playfully romantic and opportunistic life of Sid Meier's Pirates!, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until April 5, 13:59 BST / 5:59 AM PDT / 8:59 AM EDT.
Marvelous game, I'm glad we've got it here. Awesome addition to GOG catalogue.
Ah, at long last you got it. Great job, GOG. :D
Isn`t it ironic? I de-installed this game just a few days ago to free up some disc space, now it comes to GoG. :D
Thank you GoG :)
Classic. I remember many happy hours. However it could have been aged or my memory might trick me. Will watch a gameplay movie before deciding to buy again.
Hm, does this version contain the one patch which made this one pirate unbeatable? I fear so!

Thank you for that (if it really was the reason for it to appear on GOG).
If not for that stupid dancing minigame... I'd re-buy it :)

Frankly, I posted that in the wrong thread! I de-installed Sid Meiers Railroads a few days ago! :D
But I also own the disc version of Sid Meiers Pirates.

That could be a frustration, but the good feeling of doing a near-perfect dance is great. The presents the ladies hand out for doing well enough are worth the effort every time.

One can't "woe" someone or something; "woe" is a noun. I think "woo" was the word being aimed for. :)
EDIT: Ah, the irony of having to fix a typo in a post pointing out someone else's mistake. :/
