Shooting like a hurricane.

UPDATE: Yeee-haw, all weapon systems are back online! The game now supports Leaderboards and GOG Galaxy Achievements, to help you show off those mad screen-clearing skills.

Raiden V: Director's Cut, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The latest entry in the celebrated series that's been sending us straight to bullet hell for over two decades is here, more explosive than ever. Featuring voice acting for the first time, plus both a Story and a Boss Mission Mode, it will have you wreaking havoc with one of three distinct ships, each sporting different statistics, and sub-weapons.
Don't blame GOG if this sells poorly UFO, you're asking way, way too much for it, especially in light of Cuphead.

I really want this game but there's no way to justify nearly 40 bucks.

Anime-BlackWolf: But not SO often, then other genres. Would you play this game 3 hours a day for 5 days a week? Would not think so...

I played the other ones. But 1-2 hours, 1 day of the week. Replayvalue yes, but this does not justify the price update. Sorry.
You may personally not, and that's fine. But the point of this genre is these short, dense, well-balanced games that can be replayed for three hours a day, five days a week. The top players, in fact, do just that. You don't even need three hours, that's actually kinda overkill. Just one should be fine.

The "price update" is because it's a fairly new game that was released last year (originally for full retail price). III and IV were rereleases of games that had been out for years.

Crosmando: Damn, that is one huge price for a 2d bullet hell game.
Is there any particular reason that this genre is seen as having less value than others?

Cuphead is great and all, but that game was in development for an entire decade and is basically a bunch of boss fights. Releasing it at what it's actually worth (at least $40 if not $60) would have been suicide.

Games are worth a lot more than people are willing to pay for them. You can bet that there are throngs of cheapskates waiting for Cuphead to be $5 or less before even thinking about it.

Out of curiosity: What is the base US price for this? $29.99 I would assume?
