Wottie: Many devs (quite rightly) complain about customers rarely buying for the full price and waiting for sales. And then again, many customers (quite rightly) complain that if they want to have the whole game, they can hardly know when they actually have it at last.
There are always a certain percentage that jump on games day 1. There are also a certain percentage that will only buy at a discount. I see nothing to complain about from the devs' side (other than 'we want more monies'). But I can certainly see from the customer side the complaint about needing to wait to get the whole game. But, that's the way of things.
Wottie: But then again, I'm the strange kind of guy for whom sequels don't work either - when I finish playing a brilliant game, I don't scream, "Make a sequel!" I pray that they don't make one that could potentially ruin the previous experience and the whole beautiful world but instead come up with something new and brilliant again. :)
I've honestly never understood this. How does a bad sequel ruin the previous experience? That experience doesn't change because of something after the fact. I often think of the Star Wars franchise. I loved the first movie and the two sequels I found to be very satisfying. But I hated the prequel trilogy. That didn't ruin the originals for me. If anything, it made me appreciate them even more.
*shrug*
bigsilverhotdog: They lost me as a potential customer a long time ago. Even a massive sale won't bring me back. Nothing will.
If you've been paying attention to this game/company you should be saying exactly the same thing. This kind of scum deserves nothing but total market failure.
Are you referring to Mohawk or Stardock? If the latter, then I understand completely. If the former, then I need to do some googling.
