Mars attracts.

Conspicuous Consumption DLC, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
It brings two new variants for each of the five advanced buildings, giving you more stylistic options in setting up the snazziest offworld settlement. The Hacker Array now has a roulette version to appease your inner gambler and you can make your Patent Lab look like a Rubik's cube or the Pleasure Dome adopt the style of a stylish galactic diner.

I truly was going to type up a LONG rant about the game having too much DLC as it is and how each new DLC pushes my credit card further and further away...but you know what? I'm doing auditing homework instead and saving my keyboard the extra wear and tear.

I leave you all with this: $70 USD for the game and all DLCs, and if you purchase the base, multiple options greyed out. What's wrong with socialism again?

I was talking about the game systems and themes... but your point works too! XP

Does this game let you declare the Martian Congressional Republic and fight against those United Nations dogs?

Nope not possible. But you can enjoy the fruits of capitalysm as prescribed by the doctors from World Bank.

It's all a lie. Cats will rule the world.

For $70, I could knock off about a third of my wishlist.
I think I'll wait for the complete edition

It all looks good, but looks tough to keep up with

Complete editions are available on Steam BUT are not complete (only the DLC up to like today). The game will be done, finished, no more patches when they reach the end of the life cycle (and people who paid $99 before it hit Steam early access start having to pay for DLC). When that is, nobody knows.
high rated
Many devs (quite rightly) complain about customers rarely buying for the full price and waiting for sales. And then again, many customers (quite rightly) complain that if they want to have the whole game, they can hardly know when they actually have it at last.

I totally love games with zero DLCs, and my personal experience says that if a game has more than two or three, I should give it a wide berth.

But then again, I'm the strange kind of guy for whom sequels don't work either - when I finish playing a brilliant game, I don't scream, "Make a sequel!" I pray that they don't make one that could potentially ruin the previous experience and the whole beautiful world but instead come up with something new and brilliant again. :)
Maybe instead of making more DLCs you could fix the game you already have.

Still waiting on those custom lobbies we were promised.

I totally agree! And this statement is IMHO not limited to games only...
They lost me as a potential customer a long time ago. Even a massive sale won't bring me back. Nothing will.

If you've been paying attention to this game/company you should be saying exactly the same thing. This kind of scum deserves nothing but total market failure.

There are always a certain percentage that jump on games day 1. There are also a certain percentage that will only buy at a discount. I see nothing to complain about from the devs' side (other than 'we want more monies'). But I can certainly see from the customer side the complaint about needing to wait to get the whole game. But, that's the way of things.

I've honestly never understood this. How does a bad sequel ruin the previous experience? That experience doesn't change because of something after the fact. I often think of the Star Wars franchise. I loved the first movie and the two sequels I found to be very satisfying. But I hated the prequel trilogy. That didn't ruin the originals for me. If anything, it made me appreciate them even more.

Are you referring to Mohawk or Stardock? If the latter, then I understand completely. If the former, then I need to do some googling.
