Lady Aribeth, you'll never walk alone.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is now available DRM-free, 25% off until October 18th 1pm UTC. Neverwinter Nights Diamond is now included in the Enhanced Edition as a free bonus goodie. Current owners of Diamond get an additional 25% off when purchasing the Enhanced Edition.

The D&N epic returns, now with subtle graphical improvements and a completely rebuilt multiplayer system, backwards compatible with all the mods, modules, and save games you were using in the original.

Get the Digital Deluxe Edition which includes several adventure modules, the game's Soundtrack and the Heroes of Neverwinter pack or grab each of them separately.

And let's get real:A lot of people are not willing to jump through hoops to get the original to run on a modern computer.
I agree the hoops are not all that bad but you are dealing with a new bunch of customers who ,franlly, use gaming consoles as their mian gaming machine, and are used to just installing a game and playing it. You can ridicule them for that, but it's a fact of life.

Of course this whole discussion is academic...Beamdog marketing strategy has worked for them, and they are not going to change it.

gandalfnho: I guess my only reason to buy this one in the future is because is actually the only way to legally get all the premium modules...
That's what I was thinking too, since I missed those last three modules back in the day.
Can these all be completed? I'm not sure if everything is here or not.

I don't understand why anyone would pay $3 per premium module when they've been available for free for quite some time.

If Beamdog would've ported NWN to the NWN2 engine and fixed that up I would've been happy to spend $10 - $20 on this, too bad they didn't.

Throwing my two cents in. I own the disk, and the diamond ed. here on GOG but am never able to get the game to run on my computers (I have tried everything that's been suggested BTW). IF this runs on newer hardware then hell why not get it.
Is the price high? Yes it is, BUT we don't know how much work and money went it to upscale and modernise everything. If the price is to high wait for the winter sale to buy it then. A 25% or 50% discount is something GOG or Beamdog didn't have to do at all but did.

They were available for free just like any other game is available for free - illegally.
Even when the authentication server for these modules went down and using an external tool was the only way to play these modules, it wasn't strictly legal.

Beamdog actually removed the intrusive DRM system that was in place in these modules. They're playable and don't risk becoming unplayable ever again. Additionally, Beamdog is currently working on making these modules editable in the toolset, which, can pave the way for, for example, Infinite Dungeons modding.
And Beamdog pisses on yet another classic and forces people to buy the new crappier version to get the good old one.

Yeah, after 10 years (or less, whatever).

Shame on you, Beamdog, for enhace a game. Shame on you.
Here is what is included with the deluxe NWN EE edition:

Neverwinter Nights: Wyvern Crown of Cormyr
Neverwinter Nights: Pirates of the Sword Coast
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack
Neverwinter Nights: Premium Adventures Official Soundtrack
Neverwinter Nights: Heroes of Neverwinter

Some of them were never part of the Diamond edition GOG offered. Infinite Dungeons for example is one of them and was never released on physical media, activating that module even required an internet connection.

And as far as I know the official modules were never offered for "free" by the company that owned the game. Yeah, they might have been available for free, but only through game piracy.

Bioware said you could download them for free (they provided links to the for quite some time) and that they were disabling the drm servers.

Ossian would have preferred to sell DOD, but ended up with two choices: Let the module vanish into the void, or allow people to play an unpolished product for free. Now they get a shot at getting money for their work, along with ensuring that DOD is in an ideal state.

If you actually like the freeware DOD, then buy the module. That is the best way to not only reward Ossian for the effort, but also to allow them to make more stuff in the future.
