Ride the lightning.

MX vs. ATV Unleashed, a classic, fun-focused arcade racer, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com

Remember the days of motocross racing, golf carting, and plain ol' flying across dusty, muddy, entirely unwelcoming but somehow irresistible tracks? It was fast-paced, it was simple, and it was all too satisfying. Now the PS2-era offroad racing magic is back, exactly as you remember it, ready for your modern PC. Between dozens of vehicles, including weird ones and flying ones (there's a monster truck, a helicopter, and biplane), every track in the game offers a ton of challenge to master in every available vehicle, all wrapped up in a neat package with the word "fun" plastered all over.

This release also includes with the custom track editor, so really, the fun never has to stop until you do. So whatever you do, keep moving.

Don't stop till you drop in MX vs. ATV Unleashed, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com

This would be a big one for me. In split-screen mode, definitely one of the top 10 games of my childhood in terms of how much time me and my friends wasted on it… the unlimited (wrap-around) freely explorable environments were brilliant and ahead of their time. And had so many secrets to discover, I wonder how many of them I'd still remember where to find. Like the sheep jumping ramp =D

I even remember contacting one of the developers a few years later and having a quick e-mail conversation, just remember that he called the game "his baby" and said that he would love to do something similar again sometime in the future… here's hoping something'll still come of it!

Fatal Racing would be great, too, as far as I remember it was the first retail game I bought from my allowance =)

DaaaAAAAAaaaamn. Totally missed this release. Got this game from a magazine many years ago, enjoyed the hell out of it. Great fun, reminded me a lot of the good old Motocross Madness days.

Agreed on Big Red Racing. That was just a great fun arcade racer, even if the voice overs got a bit annoying after a while...

Ah, good to know.
No reviews yet? I mean I knew racing games aren't very popular, but this....

Can you please tell me, what games from this list have licensed cars?

Stunts and Stunt Driver have them for certain with Stunts having an Acura NSX plus others and Stunt Driver having a 60's Mustang. You might possibly count the Xpand Rally series as those look like the real cars, but have different names. Kind of like what was done in the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series.

Thanks for you answer. Well, yes, cars in Xpand Rally series look similar to real world cards, but that doesn't mean anything. Or ... are these games forbidden?

I did think about racing games, what could come to GOG and, how could I forget these gems?
- Ignition
- Motörhead
- Rollcage series
- Star Wars Racer
- VR Sports Powerboat Racing
- Wacky Races with Hanna-Barbera characters
- other Techland racing games (Nail'd, Mad Riders, Nikita: Speedy Pirates ...)*
- Hydro Thunder
- Hi-Octane - can we please get more Bullfrog games? :)
- Powerdrome (1988/1990 DOS version and the 2005 Windows version)
- Screamer Rally

Well, these games are technically not really racing games, but more of an shooters, but anyway:
- Quaratine series
- Zone Raiders
- G-Police

The FIM Speedway series won't ever come here, since these are licenced stuff

If GOG ever gets Namco, SEGA or KONAMI games, I would like to see Pac-Man World Rally, SEGA Sonic & SEGA All-Star racing games series, Crazy Taxi series, maybe some Woody Woodpecker Racing.

>> IGNITION

Of all those good games (i've played most, but i'd add motocross madness 2), i would say this one had more charm for me. I think i played it again like 5 years ago with a glidewrapper, and it didn't get that old, still pretty fun!
