FATALITY!

Mortal Kombat 1+2+3, the bloodiest, dirtiest, nastiest type of kombat komes to Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 are history, no doubt about that. This kombined release is a romp through that history of gore, violence and kontroversy. The gameplay and graphiks are exactly as you remember them from the arkades, in one konvenient package - it's the most kontent komplete version of these three legendary fighters. Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 has been given the GOG.com treatment, that means a hassle-free experience on modern systems, from beginning to end.

Finish him, or her, in Mortal Kombat 1+2+3, available now DRM-free on GOG.com!
I'll probably get this eventually, when it's on sale. But if it were MK Trilogy instead, I would've bought it right away. So I hope they'll release that version someday.
Does the Xbox-controller work well with these games? Has anyone tried mapping the controls using the DosBox keymapper?
I was always pretty krap at Mortal Kombat.

Yep, I would buy Trilogy in an instant too. :-) I'm not sure about this, I'll think about it later..
Awesome!
I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED

tinyE: I'm sitting here playing my Genesis Rom of this one right now. How odd. XD
Smart one, you are. ;)
Too bad the music on DOS's MK2 sucks compared to the Genesis version.

I might get this later at 75% off.

Yeah, I would like to know if the 360 controller works for the Mortal Kombat series.

No, you're doing it right!
The one with shit music is the DOS version they just released here.

What are the other differences?
Could WB not have the GFWL drm removed from the more recent and more arcade accurate Mortal Kombat Kollection (which also has UMK3) and release it instead? Kind of a bummer, but at least WB and F.E.A.R. is here.

From wikipedia:
Sega Genesis
The game is actually faster than the original arcade version but the visuals are not as brightly colored due to the system's limited color palette.[1] All of the characters' shadows are rendered as an oval instead of the normal silhouette and, due to memory limitations, some voice recordings were left out. The music is more upbeat and the arrangement is markedly different in this game as opposed to the arcade version because the music is synthesized by the console's synthesizer (some of the background music is no longer played with its intended stages).
The DOS version of MK2 is the most similar to the original arcade, though.

You can compare these two videos:
MK2 (DOS)
MK2 (Genisis)
I prefer the Genesis version which is the one I used to play on my console.

I have no idea about MK1 and MK3 for DOS.

tinyE: snip
Research time!

Frankly, for curiosity's sake I just did a quick & [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFRBmWi5anE]DOS comparison of MK2, and I must say both sound and music seem to me quite superior in the DOS version, especially when you consider all that horrible crackling due to compression on the Genesis.

As for MK3, the DOS version is supposed to be about as good as a port one could ever wish for. In fact, apparently the Windows version of the same game is worse somehow.

Lastly, considering MK1 it depends on which version is included in this package. There was a floppy and CD version, and the latter's sound is quite a bit better...

All in all, this package still seems very appealing to me, so I'll be buying. I'll be reporting back in a little bit on what my thoughts are.

Any chance this might be updated to properly support Direct or X-input controllers? Got a Logitech F310 that just doesn't work for these games in Direct Input mode or X-Input.
It's a crying shame these are the inferior DOS versions. I'm buying the other five games from todays reveal but I'm gonna have to stick to MAME for Mortal Kombat.

Then again, I might still pick it up for support.. can anyone confirm or deny if the current installer is infested with the galaxy beta client?
