FATALITY!

Mortal Kombat 1+2+3, the bloodiest, dirtiest, nastiest type of kombat komes to Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 are history, no doubt about that. This kombined release is a romp through that history of gore, violence and kontroversy. The gameplay and graphiks are exactly as you remember them from the arkades, in one konvenient package - it's the most kontent komplete version of these three legendary fighters. Mortal Kombat 1+2+3 has been given the GOG.com treatment, that means a hassle-free experience on modern systems, from beginning to end.

Finish him, or her, in Mortal Kombat 1+2+3, available now DRM-free on GOG.com!

Metallinatus: I know that, but doesn't the games comes on an Windows installer blocking my access to the game file itself or something like that?
avatar
hyperagathon: Yes and no. It does come as a Windows installer. You're not blocked from accessing the game files, however. You can either install it via WINE or use an utility called innoextract to extract them.
I am anti-WINE so there is that, but I didn't know about that innoextract so I will take a look....
I still prefer to see GOG and WB really supporting this game on Linux, through.
Just a moment....
we got something with a DC license (Batman)...
we got Mortal Kombat...

Is there a real chance for Injustice - Gods Among Us on GoG?!
I was tempted to pirate this game since it's only available with Steam-DRM afaik, but I was able to resist and stay true to my ideals.
Would love to have it here (actually would love to finally have it at all), with the Lobo DLC (and the others) included of course.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the "Vanilla" version appear on GOG by Summer of this year. The Complete (aka Ultimate) version I wouldn't count on till much later. Even with Publisher Agreements, we're still seeing 'difficulties' with including all available content even on dated titles - which is sometimes offered as free with other clients.

It's good to know there are still gaming communities that don't act entirely on their initial "loyalty" instincts. Because, Nothing says irony more than supporting a gaming movement with a pirate hat.

Dibs on Cyrax!
So the gamecard says multiplayer and the text says network multiplay. So anyone tested if you can do some multiplayer games with hamachi for example?

Only MK3 has that feature, but your guess is as good as mine how well that'd work. Though it probably should, seeing how it's also supported by the Classic Gaming Arena.

Hmm.... perhaps I should really buy it to test it. Because if the multiplayer works it would be real fun.
The most faithful port to the arcades on home systems is here. The version from Midway Arcade Classics would be better but this is the second best thing. Better than the buggy Arcade Kollection anyway. They messed up MK2 a little bit (MIDI audio, frame rate lock and smaller sprites) but the others are perfectly fine.

I remember how funny it was when Arcade Kollection arrived on consoles and people who were playing original console versions were complaining that "MK2 is impossible and the game wasn't that hard when it was released". PC version was a very faithful adaptation despite the flaws mentioned earlier, so I was wondering if the A.I. was also accurate and the tricks (there was no other way to win with computer) that I learned on Very Hard setting on PC back in the day would still work. So when Arcade Kollection finally hit PC it turned out that A.I. was almost the same and the game was definitely possible to complete.

There is no vanilla version for PC. Only complete edition. Same case for MK9.

JudasIscariot: Yes, it is :)
Why?

No really, why release an inferior port? It's not like there's any issue emulating the arcade version of these games nowadays.

Truly, truly disappointing. I thought GOG would have learned from the TIE Fighter version fiasco by now. :(

Okay, here's a reason: Licensing issues. Not to mention, how would they get the 'arcade' versions without resorting to MAME and giving us the keys to the car?

They use dosbox what's wrong with MAME.
