Chess-like strategy, a puzzle of war.

Massive Assault and Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance, two games of turn-based tactics and deception from the creators of World of Tanks, available now on Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount!

Massive Assault is, first and foremost, pure strategy. While it may look like your regular RTS, the Massive Assault series is a game of precise turn-based tactics across hexified battlefields. Your success will not depend on your reaction time or clicks per minute, you will never go into battle uncertain of its outcome. Everything is consistent and laid out on the table from the start - it's your job to make the most of these few rules to deceive and outmaneuver your opponents. The series has been described as a chess-like strategy, a puzzle of war.

Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance (aka: Domination) is an all-around improvement on the first game and a continuation of the story - it includes an expanded single-player campaign with greater tactical options, more units with better AI, and a much more graphically spectacular war to behold.

Outsmart and deceive your enemies in Massive Assault and Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance, now on GOG.com! The 50% launch discount for both titles will last for one week, until Tuesday, February 10 at 10:59 AM GMT.

It's not RTS... It's turn-based .
Nice release. Definitely one for my wishlist. A very hard turn based game if I remember correctly.

Well, shame on me! :P
Anyway, I've been trying to be good at turn based AND rts games but, so far, no luck
I have tons of these, just waitin' for me to play them. Recently I tried Maelstrom and Perimeter, two russian games who are top notch (the latter, actually) and etc. But I die within seconds, the enemy kills me with no mercy.
Better stick to platformers, some friendly rpgs, point n clicks and FREAKIN' Star Wars :P

Also when did Wargaming.net acquire the IP for this? I thought Slitherine owned this.
As far as I remember Wargaming has always owned massive assault.
Great news - I was waiting for this! We briefly skimmed through the tutorial at a friend's house years ago and I had a great first impression, I have always wanted to pick this game up again and experience it properly ever since. I wasn't so sure it would come to GOG, it had an incredibly low number of votes in the community wishlist... but I'm glad it's finally here.
Wishlisted, even though I don't know when I'll be able to play it...
Nice, only played demo and enjoyed it, wishlisted.

More games, and good looking turn-based strategy games at that?

Sounds closer to heaven than the alternative. ;)
Now if we had the old Space Hulk games or Final Liberation...

I frigging wish. Could really go for a 40K game that's actually good right about now.
Nice little surprise! Thanks GOG. :)
I'll keep an eye on these.
