UPDATE: Want to get a taste of organic alien debris (eww)? Download the free, Windows only demo and show those invaders what they're made of!

Infinium Strike, a tactical tower-defense where you give the alien scum a taste of their own organic medicine, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% launch discount.

Our space expansion efforts were going reeeal peachy until an alien armada, called the Wrog, showed up and started wiping out Earth's thriving colonies with their advanced organic ships. It took humanity a while to get over the shock and regroup, but in 2170 we finally managed to put together a super-weapon of our own: the massive battlecarrier Freedom Strike. Now let's see how these galactic bullies will do against its interchangeable turrets, SuperTech abilities, and specialized drones! Go ahead and blast wave after wave of Wrog ships, then salvage the alien wreckage for the living metal Infinium and repurpose it to enhance your gargantuan battlecarrier. Punish the invaders both through the full campaign and in the arcade mode that will make you a leaderboard legend. Taste some organic metal, you extraterrestrial filth!

Prepare your Infinium Strike DRM-free on GOG.com. The 15% launch discount will last until July 21,
4:59 PM UTC.

I took a peek into the tutorial before work that morning. Looks & sounds very nice. And the tower defense theme fits with a big superspacebattlshipcarrier ;)

And the price is totally ok. Its a brand new game with fancy 3d graphics, effects, sound & voice acting. Not every tower defense has to be... a price sensitive development.

JudasIscariot: Yes, we have a gameplay video on our channel here: Infinium Strike Gameplay Trailer Hope that helps :)
Oh, thank you! :)
I've got a few questions about the gameplay:

1. The videos I've seen make it look like there are just four turrets, one for each of three quadrants, and a defensive missile. Are there more exotic turrets that are unlocked later?

2. Are there just three types of alien ships, one for each sector?

3. Is the arcade mode just an endless battle? Is the enemy layout randomly generated?

1) There's a total of 8 turrets, several of which unlock as you upgrade the main ship. As you upgrade, you also unlock more Tech abilities, and the total number of available turret pads increases by 1 per quadrant per level.

2) There are three classes of alien ships (Fighter, Cruiser, Battleship) and multiple ships in each class. Each class of ship fights from a different sector, and different turrets are required to reach the ships in these sectors.

3) Arcade mode is an endless battle. The goal is to see how long you can survive, and how many Wrog ships can be killed while you fight. The results are tracked on a leaderboard to compare your stats to other players.

1. There are 8 turret pads per direction, so 32 total. However, there are 4 unlocked at the start and you can upgrade to the player ship, Freedom Strike up to level 5.

2. There are 7 unique Wrog creatures with 5 levels each. They can show up in any of the 4 Quadrants.

3. Yes, Deep Space mode is for experts and has leaderboards to prove who can stay alive the longest. Everybody plays exactly the same pattern of enemies so whoever survives the longest is the best.

piccolo255: Hah. Wasn't there also a brief period when french fries were renamed to "Freedom Fries" when US was having a tantrum against France a while back? International politics is weird.
avatar
IAmSinistar: Yes, that's the incident that kicked off the whole sarcastic use of "Freedom" as a label here. The congressman who was behind that later apologised for it, but the mockery lives on. :)
what was especially even more ironic is that what states call "french fries" is, in fact, something originated from Belgium

But states citizen can't figure out belgium from france because... whatever :)

btw i'm still very defiant: 15 bucks for yet another defense game... last one i tried was space delivery, which was kind of good and original enough but i wonder about this one... Now it is the kind of overused concept that is hard to refresh and such game could have used a short demo (there is one........ but steam only... yet, guess why we all are lurking here on gog, btw ?)

Hi Djaron! Thanks for pointing this out. The demo on Steam has been up for awhile, before we were capable of supporting other partners. We love GOG, and absolutely want to offer the same capabilities here as are available on Steam.

I will have our team evaluate a standalone Windows demo now, and reach out to our friends at GOG to see about getting a demo created for you guys to check out!

Keep you posted. :)
I need to start a new GOGmix, if there isn't already: "Games that let you remap keys, EXCEPT that silly WASD nonsense."

Emailed the devs to see if they'll let those be remapped like every other keybinding can be... Two games I got from GOG this summer so far that way!

While the WASD keys are not able to be re-bound in the control options, the arrow keys and 2/4/6/8 (num lock off) perform the same function without changing any settings. :)

That's good and useful. I guess I'll have to try playing the game now. But they really should be rebindable :)

oh.... great then. It's a good news and the kind of attitude i really would like to see more often from various dev studios when they begin to step in GOG or DRM-free platforms

thank you for answering and posting here.
Demo's live :)

Why don't you just use Xpadder or Joy2key to re-map the keys?

There are a lot of different programs out there for re-binding keyboard keys to other keyboard keys, keyboard to joypad etc... You just need to look around.

Thanks for the demo. That's best practice.
